@@UpAllNight91 I am confused at 29:44 that even if you shut already the throttle, the light is still off which means the power jet is open. But does it says the power jet only opens from 1/2 to full throttle when rpm is below 8,500?
@@jhulztahanlangit Yes if you watch the video again you may have missed it where I mentioned the bikes stator does not make enough power to light up the light at idle so you will see the light shut off at idle. But as soon as thee motor comes off idle the light will start to come on. These bikes stator only makes enough power at idle to make spark.
@@UpAllNight91on the same timestamp I stated, while the throttle is shut, the light comes back on again just below idle which indicates only during that time the solenoid closes then off again because the stator cannot provide enough energy to light the bulb, I fully got that. But what confused me is that the light was off (solenoid open) when throttle was shut, and still have enough rpm for the stator to light the bulb.
Thanks! I think its about time to mix in some 4 stroke videos but the 2 stroke stuff is surely my favorite too. Love my smokers lol. Hope your having a great start to your weekend and hope you can bear the heat and get a ride in this weekend 😀
I rebuilt my 2014 yz250's carb, the carb was sitting in a box for the last 8 years, we've been using a lectron. But after rebuilding it it's sputtering really bad mid to full throttle. I've taken it apart and cleaned it 3 times but never removed the power jet and that piston. I'll give this a shot and see how it goes afterwards. thank you. Need to order that strange torx driver with the hollow center
Right on. Yeah I would surely check the powerjet. By going back to the OEM carb from the lectron you will at least have a TPS again. The TPS is also used by the CDI to control ignition timing based on throttle input.
Hello. No the TPS wont cause a no spark issue. Years ago people would even unplug the TPS's as a "mod". It wasnt so much a mod but more of a way to change the fueling and stuff. But anyway the TPS wont cause it to not spark.
Hello. This is a different carb than the 4 stroke. I dont have a carb video for the 4 stroke yet. But I might put one together when a 4 stroke comes through that needs some carb work.
can u help me… i dont know why but i dissasembled the tps and now its not working… if u move the sensor it doesnt work like normally sorru for my bad english
Hello, a question outside of Yamaha YZ, which carburetor do you think would be best for a KTM 300 EXC 2017, a Kehin 36 or a Kehin 38, to change the mikuni, thanks in advance
Hello. The first thing I would do is check the boot between the carb and reeds (reed boot). See what size inner diameter of it is? If its 36mm then a 36mm will be best (but you can also hand port the reed boot to 38mm if desired). If the reed boot is a 38mm ID then you have the option of either the 36 or 38mm carb. The 38mm carb is going to be best for all out power and will provide more power at less throttle openings, this would be best for MX track riding. However the 36mm will provide better throttle control and may be better for slippery conditions and technical riding like tighter woods riding.
Hello. I dont suggest unplugging the TPS because the CDI uses the reading from the TPS to determine the ignition timing advance curve based on throttle position. I honestly dont see the lectron carbs as a quality carb. They are kinda cheaply made and I just wont trust one on a track bike for myself. But thats my opinion. I have a friend who installed a lectron on a YZ250 and he kept frying pistons no matter how he set the carb. I speculate it was due to not having the TPS connected and the timing being too advanced at full throttle. It might be ok for trail riding but on a track with lots of full throttle lap after lap, I dont suggest it.
Finally found the best explanation of how the power jet really work on the keihin carb.
I did look around before making this video to see if anyone else already covered it. Seems like no one had yet which was surprising.

What timestamp are you referring to so I can go back and look
This video is the best there is out there, perhaps best there will ever be?
Thanks!
👍Thanks! So much info. Loving the 2 stroke stuff.

This was the best so far I have seen it mostly looking for a 4stroke yz450f but I could use the video still and look up the manuel some concept
Nice! What year is your yz?
Super great video. Super informative! This gave me ideas on what to troubleshoot. Hopefully, it'll help with the problems with my bike.
Thanks and right on! Hopefully it helps!
Another great video
Thank you sir!👍
Another great video!!!
Thanks Joel!

Thanks Craig!
Excellent video.🏜👍
Thanks Bradley!
Great frikkin content bro
Thanks! 🤙
Great video. Can the TPS malfunction and not give you spark? Thanks.

19:19 That's exactly how I sound in the morning.
And Esther is 19:52? lol
Is this the same carb on the 250F? Do you have a jetting vid for this?
Thanks!

U said u would make video on what use locktight on an lose bolts to check??
Yes sir, I should have that up within a week.

sorru for my bad english
Hmm. I dont have enough information. Do you mean the sensor itself will not turn on the inside any more?

What if you unplug the TPS and install a Lectron? Anything gonna go wrong?

Can I get a tps for my yz250 from ebay?
Its possible. But I would try to get a OEM Yamaha one if possible.
