Awesome Mike glad to hear it helped a bit. I am just starting my second 416 build and just got my cam/crank/Katech oil pump on. Will have some new vids up soon, just trying to find content that isn't already done 1000 times already, but is still helpful to others. Thanks for subscribing! !~Michael
Car snapped a crank on my new 416 right after I installed this setup so I am in the process of my short block being replaced by Texas Speed. I only got street Temps never above 202 degrees (thermo at 200) so perfect on the street. I will get track Temps once the car is back together soon.
@@jonathontalley 600 wheel is absolutely great for tracks anyway. Mine is not ideal and honestly, I won't ever go down this path again unless it was drag, etc. It's just too much to handle and not as much fun and much harder to drive. Keep me posted, please!
I have my new 416 in and I have made some spirited pulls back to back (no track time yet) but temps never moved over 200. I sit in the carpool lane for 20 mins at my kid's school, it creeps up to 210 (92-degree day), mostly b/c no airflow is passing through it. But it never goes past 210 and soon as I get over 15 mph it immediately pulls it back down to 200 degrees. My coolant is also doing so much better now that it's not responsible for cooling my oil (or supercharger). Honestly, this is the best mod I've done to this car to date. 13.5 quarts of oil, so I installed a Katech High Flow billet oil pump, which at idle is 38-40 psi and 1600+ cruising around 65-69 psi. Excellent pressure and volume to push that extra oil. Having extra volume of oil is also great for cooling and longevity of the oil.
This is honestly the best mod I have yet to do with this car. It turned out beyond my expectations. The oil heats up quickly I honestly can't even tell a difference over stock. And I have a 200 degree thermo built in once it hits 200 it may rise to 210 after several hard pulls but immediately comes right back down in seconds to 200. Idling in 95 degree weather for 20 mins it got to 220. Never went above. Soon as I started moving right back down to 200. Never had one leak and it does add about 3 more quarts , which is great honestly it improves cooling even more and a little oil longevity. I will try to make another video focusing on Temps and Oil Pressure soon.
Great effin video. Thanks for putting it together. Saved my arse building this stupid thing lol

I bought the same cooler in 2019 and just now getting it installed. Curious on your temps on track.

Sounds good. I'm only making 600 wheel but will be back on the road for September tracking. Perfect to test the cooler

Going to be ordering this cooler and making something similar, now that you’ve had some time with it how’s it doing? Anything you’d change?

after installing the oil cooler, how many 1/4 oil should you add?
After the dedicated oil cooler I installed it added 3.5 quarts to capacity. So I am around 13 quarts or so total.
Badass
Thank you! Hope to have more statistics with this setup when I get my new 416 built short block back from Texas Speed very soon!
Hi Michael, what length were your lines?
I answered in your other post.
