    Don't get me wrong, nice bike and all. But all the talk about 60g lighter, 18 seconds faster on Alp d'Huez etc is pretty much irrelavant for 99,9% of the riders on this planet. And 350W over one hour? Achievable for many of us? Give me a break! Let's call it for what it is: marketing b*llsh*t.

    • @2wheelsbest

      Well, remember this bike WILL be raced at the TdF, Giro, Vuelta etc... in those races that time saving will matter, so not really bulls**t, just not relevant to most people who will own one.

      350 W for be 6 W/kg for me. If I could do that for an hour as an amateur then I could probably become a worldtour rider. And that's assuming a 1 hour TT, not a normal race.

      @@yicheng1991 But to be fair, James (the presenter) did say that he'd just received it. Would you prefer to wait a month for some hands-on experience or see the bike now in the flesh? The disc brakes are all power and no finesse or feel and the drive train is the noisiest I have ever known plus when coasting the free hub sounds like a chainsaw at full tilt. Only available in disk break... why? No but really, why?

    • @DaveCM
      @DaveCM 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because the demand from consumers is for disk brake. It would cost a lot of money to develop two completely different bikes and they would sell fewer bikes of each to disperse the cost. If they develop basically one frame to do both with few changes, each would be a compromise.

    When is that full review dropping? I'm hovering over the buy button but waiting to see if the bike is actually any good. There are no other reviews out there yet that give a true sense of how it rides.

    The meat blob on the bike accounts for almost all aerodynamic drag. The bike drag is not significant so reducing it is even less so. The meat blob also accounts for almost all the weight between rider and bike. The weight of the bike is not significant so reducing it is even less so. See a pattern?

    Beautiful bike. I wonder why the front tire is so far away from the downtube?

    • @palouuolap
      @palouuolap 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have last year's model and there's a surprising amount of toe overlap (56cm frame). It's also a very nimble, perhaps squirrely, bike. Perhaps if the wheel angle was steeper, bringing it closer towards the frame, it would be too unstable and if the frame was larger and pushed up to the wheel, it would lose that snappy handling the Emonda has?
