Hey John, My Ninja arrived yesterday. I got it cleaned up and did the steam test. Every thing checked out. So for the very first item cooked in this machine, Your McDonald's Egg McMuffin. My wife is damn hard to please. Rarely and I mean rarely does she ever say something is good. I made her two of these. Only twice in 30 yrs of cooking for her has she ever rolled her eyes in delight. She loved it. Thanks for posting this.
That is really good to hear William, I love hearing that and this is the reason I do this...I hope you find many more of my recipes that help and thank you very much for trying the recipe and sharing your results...and of course...thanks for watching!
I love your videos. I am from Johannesburg, South Africa and recently bought a Instant Pot Duo with Air Fryer Lid. Your videos are so well explained that I have had no problems with my purchase.
Okay John, you sold me. I ordered a Foodi. I was making McMuffins in my Hamilton beach sandwich maker. Works fine but I don't like the cleanup. Keep up the Foodi recipes. Love them!!
Very glad to hear that... thanks for trusting me and I honestly think you have made a good decision... one of these days I'm gonna start selling stuff on here just don't want people to think I'm just saying stuff for the sell... I'm not and I think the foodi had some really good features and works well... but most importantly.. thank you for watching!!!
What cleanup? There is no cleanup! I make my sandwiches with whole wheat bread cut to size, Taylor pork roll, egg and shredded cheddar cheese... 4 minutes and you're all done and ready to eat. No cleanup needed, no germies! Wipe it down with a paper towel.
Hey John, Most likely you know this, Yesterday I got some chicken nuggets from McDonald's. The wife took them to work and did not get a chance to eat. So when she got home I put them into the foodi. I preheated the foodi about 5 min. Cooked them for 5 min. or. They tasted better than they did when I got them. And I drained off a good bit of grease. They came out tasting fresh and crispy, with a little crunch. In the past I have tried to do this in a microwave and oven but the results were not good. I was not sure if we would like this Foodi machine. So far it has been Wonderful. Thanks for the videos and advice.
Thanks so much for the vids. Just made this McMuffin, running between kitchen & living room where my laptop is placed, to follow alle the instructions. 😀 Here in Germany, the Ninja is too new. There are hardly any German videos yet. Guess what? I've been using the Foodi for about 4 weeks, but I never dared to use the pressure function. Frankly, I bought it for everything else it can do, but could live w/o the pressure cooking. Never done that before. Anyway, your video called for it and so I took the lid out of cupboard for the very first time, did the water test, and cooked my egg exactly the way you did. Alas, it came out a bit too dry. I have the 8 qt Deluxe, so I guess, I'll just have to reduce the cooking time a bit. Since I didn't have Canadian Bacon or Ham, I simply put little chunks of breakfast bacon directly on the Muffin while it got heated and the cheese on the bacon, instead the other way round. Turned out great. I have one last egg left in the fridge. So, I'll again give it a try and will go for the perfect egg yolk this time! Thanks again. Without this vid - I don't know when I would ever have dared to use the presser cooking option.
Glad to hear that and I'm glad i helped with you using the pressure function... it is very useful with many items, not sure if you enjoy boiled eggs in Germany...(is love to visit and find out one day) but that is another great way to use pressure cook function... the poached egg is a little tricky to get right but i hope to hear your last egg turned out excellent...thanks for watching!!!
@@JohnSanders Thank you very much for the kind answer:) However, any particular brand? I've done on a search on Amazon and the brands I've come across say nothing about using in a pressure cooker. My apologies as I'm new to using the Ninja Foodi and pressure cooking.:)
Thank you for the egg cooking tip. This breakfast sandwich is also my favorite and I also cook it at home but I never done it with the foodi. I also prefer cheddar over American every time. Thank you again!!!!
Your welcome and I love this breakfast sandwich too...the way the egg is cooked is good for many recipes and the cheese really puts it over the top...thanks for watching!
In Canada , Canadian bacon is referred to as back bacon in some cases and on some of them they have cornmeal on them. What I like about the way you did the egg was in the ramekin. Thanks John.
2023...John I love your videos. This McMuffin looks great. Now I have a request. Can you PLEASE convert and video this recipe for the Ninja Speedi since the Speedi has Steam it should be faster and just as good, but we shall see in your version video. TIA
Thanks John... I tried it at home and it's funny how good it came out. I'm printing out the recipes I've done since new to the ninja foodi and you've helped w/ several. I'd like to print out this breakfast sandwich one, where can I find it please? Thanks again...
Just made this as the very first time the Foodi Deluxe 8 qt was turned on. Eggs were also overcooked like you said on your avocado toast vid. Eggs were cold. I noticed 1 cup water doesn't fully cover bottom of pot. Might use more? Toast and meat/cheese we're all great. Thanks!
I bought the ramekins from our local school that was selling them on our orders from a magazine to raise funds for something...i think any ramekin with similar dimensions would work...thanks for watching!!!
@@JohnSanders I'm right there with ya, there's no point putting bland cheese on anything! I bet an aged sharp chedder might even kick it up a notch into flavor town!
Tried making this (in the UK) for the first time - results are just like a McDonalds McMuffin! thank you for the recipe! I've had the Foodi for 2 days now loving it - but now upgrading it to the Foodi Maxi after seeing your review! Funny the UK version has Grill on the control panel labelling rather than Broil! Tip: on the Foodi if you keep your finger pressed down on the time adjustment it will adjust in quicker increments.
Very glad you enjoyed it...I love the way this unit does eggs and That grill button is interesting to know...do you believe the button has the same function as our broil? And I do sometimes hold the button down but always run past my target...lol...thanks and thanks for watching!
I don’t have that Foodie device …I have the XL Oven and the XL Grill/Griddle…do you know if I can pouch an egg in a ramakan in one of those devices! Or any other way you know of?
I'm conflicted on which one to buy the ninja foodie or the instat pot. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm a single dad of 1 so if anyone has any suggestions i would appreciate it.
Don't take this the wrong way Brian, I got nothing against the instant pot and I personally own 3 and that device is what started me on TH-cam, that being said it is hard not to recommend the Ninja Foodi because of the things it does that instant pot doesn't, such as Air Fry, air crisp, brown, bake, roast, dehydrate, broil and true steam...not to mention it comes with a ceramic coated pot that is really impressive to clean. It is more money but really does justify...I feel like I need to say that nobody and I mean nobody is paying me to say this, it is honestly what I recommend to friends, family and any one who ask, again I love the instant pot and I still do certain items in it but Ninja really filled a much needed gap that is left when something needs to be browned etc...plus it can be used for way more things than pressure cooking...sorry for the lengthy answer I just feel really strong about it...and as always...thanks for watching!!!
@@JohnSanders Thank you for your response i think since its me and my son i will be purchasing the 6.5 one. Thank you for your videos and to give your honest opinion.
All ramekins are different but If you have some with small diameters you could... but you will probably need to adjust time... hope this helps and thanks for watching!!
For a breakfast sandwich I love my yolks that way too and that is known as a fudgy egg. If they're going on toast I want them less done with a runny yolk but the white cooked. I can make several of these breakfast sandwiches and freeze some so that I'm not managing them every day. :-)
I’ve made this twice and it was and wasn't a success (6qt NF). I did two at the same time using large eggs right from the fridge. They were both hard cooked eggs after 4 minutes on high pressure and a QR. The next time I changed the pressure to low, and I used the same ramekins, only I added one more egg in a smaller glass container (I didn’t want to leave one egg left in the fridge). I cooked them on low pressure for 4 minutes. The ramekin eggs were exactly the same, hard boiled, however, the smaller glass container was almost perfect. The white was not quite done all over, but the yoke was perfect. Again, I used large eggs. Very strange. I will use the smaller container next time and try it on high pressure again to see what happens. Any ideas what happened…. Old eggs, young eggs, size of eggs, size of container, did more than one at a time? Thank you John, Love your videos…
That is some excellent information!!! I have had other comments about the eggs not turn out the same as mine??? I think everything you mentioned may play a role and even things like the temperature of egg, meaning how long it set out...or if straight out of fridge (some countries do not refrigerate eggs) I have done some research and will continue to do so but thank you for sharing your results.
Hey Mr John, I just made these, I don’t know if you were using the 6qt in this Video? My 8qt made my egg yolks ( well.....like McDonald’s I guess?, too dry ) but we wanted or Yolks like yours were. Do you think it had something to do with my Ninja being higher wattage? Everything else was Awesome 😎 I might have figured out that some of my things get a little more Cooked when I follow recipes I watch exactly sometimes???? What Cha Think 🤔 xo 😘
My eggs may have been a little cooler or something.. and the wattage could be a factor... you may have to experiment a few times until you get desired doneness... thanks for trying it!!!
John Sanders I was Actually worried that my eggs were too cold when I started ? lol I’m gonna try one at 3 min pressure, I’ll let cha know how it turns out . Love Ya
Hey, I tried it poach some eggs under a raw steak (I know, stupid) and the steak juice dripped into the eggs and screwed things up. If I poach them pressure cook me more (only did 1 minute) is it safe to eat em with the steak juice Tha dripped? Thanks
@@JohnSanders Was too hungry to wait for an answer lol. Took a chance and just ate it. Wasn't bad as I thought it would be. Definitely messed up the poached egg approach. Anyhow, thanks for this vid. For sure gonna try the egg mcmuffin thing
omg, that looks good! I've been "scrambling" my eggs in a poacher cup and I'm not happy with them. I will definitely try them your way, they look way better. I'm not a fan of Canadian Bacon though, I prefer the frozen, pre-cooked sausage patties. Or bacon sometimes. lol :) Aaaaand.............while the Sargento Sharp Cheddar slices are my favorite, I use one of those on one side of the muffin and a slice of Sargento Gouda on the other side. Because I AM a fan of cheese. lol :D Thanks for the video. .......btw, what size ramekin do you use? Those seem to work really well. But I think the ones I have are too big.
First of all thank you and the sausage patties and bacon don't sound bad either... the ramekin is 2 3/4 inch diameter where the egg actually sits...I got them from a student selling stuff to raise money but they work Betty...i well...I like gouda too... thanks for watching!!!
They are ramekins I purchased when the school was selling them...but any kind should do..glad you enjoyed the video and it makes some great eggs!!! Thanks for watching!
HI, Great stuff on the Foodi! Someone may have asked this already, where did you get your oil spray bottle? I have tried several, and they don't seem to hold up.
Not counting the cost of the Ninja, you’re stretching it if you spent 25 c on that. I used to buy the frozen ones, JD I believe, and they are close to $1 each. If one wanted, they could just as easily do five eggs in one batch and freeze their own sandwiches to eat through the week. The Foodsaver bags with the ziplock seals are fantastic for things like this. But wash and reuse them because they are kinda pricey. Top notch recipe.
They were very good and I do like the fact I can put what I or anyone else wants on them... but I imagine they are not as cheap as the Jimmy Dean frozen ones... and those are not that bad...thanks for watching!!!
Hey J007, another gr8 video. Did it this morning, and got to thinking, I would like to make 3 or 4 and freezz them for a later date. Have you done this? and if so, how would you re heat them in the Microwave? BTW it came out pretty dog gone good. " IIIDENTICAL"
Well I'm very glad to hear they were good and I really do appreciate you trying it and posting your results...it would be nice to freeze some but I have never done that and I think it might mess up the egg a little bit but it might still be good...Thanks again!!
I've been thinking about this issue due to so many similar comments, I think it may have to do with altitude and for the record I am at 1230 ft above sea level...not sure, but I think this may be the problem, so if your altitude is considerably different you may need to adjust the time accordingly
@@JohnSanders I was thinking the same thing, I'm in Los Angeles, but I didn't want to come off as a know-it-all by talking about altitudes lol. - also, I'm having trouble getting the egg to come out of the ramekin
@@inspirationmediatube yeah, I never thought I would need to know altitudes in the kitchen LOL but it may mean more than I thought.. The only thing I had trouble with getting them to release with was when I used avocado oil, but Pam worked really well for me?
Well...I guess that altitude stuff really means something...glad you got the doneness figured out and maybe it's your ramekins?? But either way thank you very much for watching and sharing your results!!
I leave it out quite often and after a few days it will mold so you need to keep it refrigerated until the night before and then put back in fridge as soon as possible...thanks for watching!
I've been using your style and both my husband and I love them. I've got a question. I would like to make two eggs at once, is that possible? If so what are the cooking times? Or will the cooking times stay the same?
Am I in the Twilight Zone? I love your videos but SERIOUSLY?. Aside from I can have one made in a small nonstick pan and eat it and clean up like 3 times in the time this takes and with a fraction of the mess, of COURSE its better than McDonalds. McDonalds SUCK. Their muffin is like styrofoam. Plus the enire point of nooks and crannies is they crisp up like nothing else on earth and that gets defeated here, BOO HISS LOL Are you related to Rube Goldberg? Make one with a clothes iron next! (But if you volunteered to make me one that way I wouldnt say no) lol Get help! I think you love that thing a little TOO much. Thx for letting me josh ya. Peace, out.

@@JohnSanders Thank you for building everyone's confidence with your videos.
@@MMCM1010 you are so welcome... and I hope that is what I do... thank you again for watching and commenting!!!
Looking at this for a Christmas gift the U.K. version is slightly different to the USA I’m talking bout the max . But it still looks good
I think it is a really neat device...thanks for watching!
For people like me that doesn’t like run in yellow, how much more time I need to do for done?
I would try 5 minutes, I think that is how I did it once before but honestly it's been awhile... thank you for watching and I hope this helps!
How is this not the top viewed video on TH-cam?!?!?
Try putting the egg in one cup water in Pyrex measuring cup in microwave for one minute. Great poached egg!
Good looking samish.
It was excellent... thanks for tuning in!!!
Love Ya
Love y'all too... let me know and thanks!!
Hey, I tried it poach some eggs under a raw steak (I know, stupid) and the steak juice dripped into the eggs and screwed things up. If I poach them pressure cook me more (only did 1 minute) is it safe to eat em with the steak juice Tha dripped?
Thanks
I'm am not sure i understand the question...
@@JohnSanders
Was too hungry to wait for an answer lol. Took a chance and just ate it. Wasn't bad as I thought it would be. Definitely messed up the poached egg approach.
Anyhow, thanks for this vid. For sure gonna try the egg mcmuffin thing
The web mcmuffin is a good one...i need to make it again soon myself...thanks for watching!!!
omg, that looks good!
Love your video's !
Thank you...glad to hear that and thank you for watching!!!
John what is the type of cup did you use for the egg.. I can't wait to make this for my wife..
They are ramekins I purchased when the school was selling them...but any kind should do..glad you enjoyed the video and it makes some great eggs!!! Thanks for watching!
Love your videos
Thanks Rick!!
What is Pam from uk
Pam is just a non stick spray ...thanks for watching!!!
HI, Great stuff on the Foodi! Someone may have asked this already, where did you get your oil spray bottle? I have tried several, and they don't seem to hold up.
It is an EVO and I ordered it from QVC, it seems to be better than the others I've had...Thank you for watching!
I use the Evo’s as well and they’re great
Not counting the cost of the Ninja, you’re stretching it if you spent 25 c on that.
Perfection
Thank you and thanks for watching!!!
I love this recipe, for some reason if I do my egg at 4 minutes it comes out too done. I'm trying it right now at 3 minutes to see the difference.
@@JohnSanders I used pam, still stuck, but it's not a problem, the 3 minute cook time worked much better. I'm at 900+ feet here lol
Well...I guess that altitude stuff really means something...glad you got the doneness figured out and maybe it's your ramekins?? But either way thank you very much for watching and sharing your results!!
5:56 are you actually saying you left your cheese out all night? Wouldn't it spoil?
I leave it out quite often and after a few days it will mold so you need to keep it refrigerated until the night before and then put back in fridge as soon as possible...thanks for watching!
John could you come up for a recipe based on this but to create a sausage McMuffin ?
I've been using your style and both my husband and I love them. I've got a question. I would like to make two eggs at once, is that possible? If so what are the cooking times? Or will the cooking times stay the same?
I would not change times very much...if at all, just make sure you have some room between them...thanks for watching!
Are your eggs fridge cold at start or room temp?
They had set out for 30 minutes or so... thanks for watching!!
i don't know if you know this, but Pam now makes an avocado spray
Yes...I have used it...thanks and thanks for watching!!!
I cannot get the egg right it’s always overcooked or undercooked 😑
I think the eggs might play a role in this ...I used some I had bought that day...not sure this is it but hope this helps...thanks for watching!
John Sanders are they at room temperature or do u keep them in the fridge?
@@yourlotusflower4414 I usually let them set out of the refrigerator for awhile before using
where are the directions?
I would call this the - McJelly007.com - breakfast sandwich.
That's a good idea... I'm lovin it!! Thanks for watching the Mcjelly007... did you hear that crunch!!!
John Sanders sure did.
Think you just jumped over those golden arches.
I think so... thanks for watching me do that...LOL!!
You must be in Colorado
Actually, I'm in Georgia... thanks for watching!!!
I don't know why that is called Canadian bacon, that is ham slices here in Canada . Canadian bacon is pemale bacon. Lol
I meant the typed recipe
Sorry...I have things in the works but none of it completed yet...
4 minutes fully cooked my eggs in my ninja for poached eggs
That's not cheese, it's oil
Haha...I love the stuff..lol... thanks for watching!!!
Peace, out.
Lol...I am a little excited about it... but it did do a good job... but maybe that's my subconscious telling me that...lol...thanks for watching!!!
