2023 Chevy Colorado Infotainment Tour! Where are The Headlight Controls?

  • My first ever GM press vehicle was this sweet looking 2023 Chevy Colorado with the multipurpose Z71 package. I say multipurpose as it combines on road luxuries with a touch of off road flavor from the more focused Trailboss. But is it worth the nearly $48k my tester came in at?
    ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🏁 @Alllcarnews Spec Sheet: For the 2023 Model year, this Z71 gets a 2.7L turbo 4 cylinder making 310HP and 390 lb-ft of torque while a high output version in the ZR2 gets 430 lb-ft of torque. Towing is decent too at 7,700lbs. 🏁
    ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
    Highs:
-The looks inside/out are sweet! Bold boxy lines, trim specific facias and a very refreshing, modern interior are very welcome.
-On road handling also impressed me, it drives more car-like than expected though the suspension was a bit firm.
-The engine lineup, being 4 cylinder only, did not disappoint with heaps of torque and a linear feel with the gearbox.
    Lows:
-Rear leg space is cramped as expected and interior materials, even with lot’s of options, could be more comfortable.
-The tech generally was flawless though the digital dash frequency froze which was concerning.
    - It now has to compete with the upcoming all new Tacoma, Ranger & not yet revealed Ridgeline which are all very promising.
Generally liked it more than I was expecting but it felt like a Porsche with the amount of options needed to get decent features. 7.5/10 for me.

At first I thought getting rid of the physical headlight switch was a really dumb idea. Then I realized: Because I have auto headlights, I almost NEVER actually use it, so this is not as big a deal as I first thought.

I always shut off the auto headlights and other crap I don't want nor need.

Headlights?…..The cyber truck has everything on the touch screen…headlights, locks, radio, a/c, and yes even the gear shifting on the touch pad…guess all manufacturers will move toward more touch screen applications.

    When that screen breaks...

I've had a 7-inch screen in my 2017 Chevy and it's going strong. Stuff does indeed break, and not just screens. When it happens, you get it fixed.

It can be expensive, if out of warranty.
A buddy of mine had a '19 Canyon and it had to be replaced under warranty (cost then was $800 Canadian).

@@crlaw75 sure, but I doubt that is a common issue. If it was a common issue, it would be a deal breaker for many including me.

I prefer the physical buttons instead.

Same equipment to what if the headlight switch breaks. Get it fixed. And it’s not gonna break for a very long time anyways.

Stupidity reigns at GM with placement of headlight switch.
