I always say that the sky is sunny when I'm listening to Tommy Emmanuel.
One of the things I like about Tommy,
Besides his being such an outstanding musician,
Is that he is so at ease with himself. Makes everybody comfortable.

I've been a fan of Tommy's for so long - not because he is one of our greatest guitarists & melodians, but because he is all of that AND a wonderful human being, so it's those combined traits that bring me joy.
I watched "Live at St Louis" one night many years ago and by the end of the video my head muscles were sore from smiling for 2 hours!!
Very happy to watch another Nerdville interview! 🤩
Also, I like the format of the KTBA Cruise interviews.
Sitting in comfy chairs next to each other and talking casually, like old friends.
At least, I'm hoping for that format again.😃

I love the part about how you develop as an artist from imitating the people who inspired you to gradually developing your own sound and carving out your own space as a unique artist. That's such a great way of describing artistic development, not to mention how you develop in other areas of life as well.

Two greats! 🫶🏽❤️🎸. Did the KTBA at sea cruise 3/13-3/17/23. It was a bucket list vacation! So many world class bands all on one boat! I even got to jam. The last afternoon I was in the very very front row for JBs last performance on the pool deck…I could’ve polished Joe’s shoes! Tommy Emmanuel was not on that one.

That bit at the end is so important about listening to people from different styles of music and absorbing influences that you might not expect. There is so much to learn, and so much to be gained from incorporating the lessons of different styles of playing and songwriting. If you want to keep music moving forward, it is a must. And of course both of these guys have demonstrated that in the versatility they have shown over the years.
Joe is real and that’s what matters! I really love watching him make music live or in the studio! Especially love when he played with Orchestra musicians that showed his diversity making music ! It’s just great ! The song Lazy in the studio kicked ass ! I’ll play the blues for you man incredible ! Tommy is incredible I know this was about him ! But I think Joe sells his self short sometimes! He shouldn’t ever do that !

Tommy said Paco de Lucia. Thank God I saw him but only once In Finland. It was 1988 Kulttuuritalo in Helsinki. It was his first concert. He was not happy this so he played another concert same place. I didn't notice anything maybe it was some sound problem? Anyone knows? Yeah, I like Flamenco music basically it's lyrics are like blues. I see something similarities between these.
