That is truly a lot of hard, heavy, and dirty work! You will be rewarded when the lawn is green and lush like the back. Always nice to have a Brutus sighting! Can’t wait to see the end result! But, of course there will always be another project that needs done! Great job!
Thanks Gary. It was definitely a lot of work. Hopefully this is it for large projects this year. I will probably pull up the 35 ft paver walkway along side the house and redo it. It wasn't done right to begin with so everything is sinking. I'll do that after the grass is well established. 😉
I'm worn out. You gotta be pooped. That bite you told me about is even bigger than I first thought haha. You're building up the anticipation to results nicely! Great video man!
Thanks Travis. It's been a week and I'm still exhausted from the work it took. Shoveled and spread 4 yards plus raking a dozen times, rolling, seeding, peat moss. It was a lot. 😁👊🏼
Looking really good Nate !! Cool piece of property too. I like the way it goes out around the maple. It’s going to be a showplace when you’re done. Nice work Brother !
Brutus want to be the first one to get his paws in that new grass. Lots of work you put into that reno. I can appreciate what your doing and cant wait to see it fill in. My load of top soil was filled with 3 trash cans worth of rocks. Had to sift every shovel full Ryan Knorr style. Maybe that's why I'm hesitant to do another reno. 🥵
I probably picked out a dozen rocks out of the 4 yards I got. It was really clean stuff. Even without having to screen it, I'm done doing renovations... I'm getting too old for that stuff. 🤣
I take my mask and cape off to you sir. That is a lot of work and its looking great so far. If the weather behaves this is going to be a great reno. Looking forward to Part Two
@@Striperman I have total faith in the GCI seed I used. It's the cooler temps and rain that's had me nervous. The soil temp has dropped over 10* since I seeded.
Nice work bro. I'm gonna kill off my back yard in a couple months and start over. I got some really weird "grass" or something that I don't know what it is, taking over. It's paper thin and likes to lay over. Super shallow roots and comes up like a carpet. So, gonna be gone soon. Excited to start...but also nervous about all the work. Watched both of your reno projects and taking notes. Keep up the good work.
Great work this Nate! When leveling what benchmark do ya use? Do ya start at the house and work from there? Appears Brutus wanted a ride in ya cart! Keep up the brilliant work enjoyed this yes! Cheers
So the grade work was in 2 parts. The primary goal was to get water to drain away from the side of the house. We started closest to the house and worked away. Then I wanted to get the soil even with the sidewalk. I started at the sidewalk and worked away. Then I just had to blend it together. I tried putting Brutus in the cart a few times.. that didn't go over well.🤣😂
@@PacificNorthwestLawns good idea, local gas corp. is shredding me yard running new gas piping, ill have some more questions once the battlefield is finished! Me three labs all want in me cart at the same time🤦🏻♂️
The second half of this video should be out soon. Stay tuned.

Thanks Scott. I appreciate ya 👊🏼
I'm sure glad my yard is nowhere near the size of yours, I know how much work you're putting in! and it's gonna look good!
3500 sq ft of turf up front. It was a ton of work. I'm at day 7 with no germination. In about 3 days I'm going to start getting nervous 😳
That's a lot of work, but it looks like it's coming along nicely.
It was a ton of work but the Triv is gone..😁

So far it's been cold so the germination is taking a while. It's now day 8. I'm starting to get a little nervous 😳
I lied. I went out and looked a little better and I now have some germination. 😁
Never thought I would say this but it pays to lie sometimes lol 🤣

@@PacificNorthwestLawns I know. The weather is crazy. Over the weekend was almost 90 here and today its in the 60's Go figure

Sounds like bentgrass. I had a bunch of that too. I absolutely hate the stuff.

It’s about time you got off your butt and got out in the sun and put in some work. Lol….great work buddy

Hello from Stanwood Wa! Your in Western Washington right?
Yep, I'm near Vancouver, Wa
@@PacificNorthwestLawns awesome! Almost everyone is in warmer areas. Good to follow someone with the same climate. Your progress is amazing.
Wait for the update video. I had some family matters to attend to bit I'll get it done here soon.

Why didn't you just back your truck up to where you were dumping? Was it too soft to drive on?
It would completely defeat the purpose of a smooth level surface. Plus it's not that big of an area, it's only 3500 sq ft.
