Howdy, I enjoyed the video...I see it's bit older but wanted to ask a question. I like those foam tires and was wondering how long they last running on the pavement. If I got some and ran it once a week....approx how long would the rears last? Thank you!
I just got a rustler xl5 3 months after this Christmas, just getting into bobby, plan on upgrading to aluminum, but what pinion and spur gear and battery would u recommend, what do u have, I would like be fast out the whole shot and top speed, without burning anything up yet
I have same car same motor esc ect. When i pick the car up and throttle and let off the driveshaft does a crazy shutter/vibration. Is there anything else that can be besides the driveshaft? Like bearings, or something?
Also completely cleaning your car is part of routine maintenance. Including axel shafts. Unless i run through water i do once every other week. If wet or dusty sand usually next. Bearings don't like either or axel shafts. I have 3 nitros an 5 electric. Build 3 more. Including 2 rustlers.
Ya i take mine down to bear chassis. I clean every piece as i put together. My nitro revo was the longest. Thanks to eBay. In 2 lots boxes. Have enough parts to build it 4x on there own chassis. Got less than $120 complete including buy revo running. Completely do new parts and upgraded rpm parts. Doing same to my rustler and a friend's rustler. I have a newer model he has 1996. Still was all original with exception to 20t stinger. Xl-1 esc . now 12t titan xl-5 and rpm front lower arm. Getting soon rpm front and rear arm and wide bumper kit. I have the white body rustler so going with neon green. And my boy has the sheriff body and going with traditional blue like my revo. Going to build in coming year a crazy fast vintage pan car(carpet car). T.A. rc-10. Found most springs needed for rear suspension. Thought it would be almost impossible. Me just learning about xl-5 so don't know what kinda speeds are made or limits yet. Would like to join the 100mph club. Had a crazy red Porsche back in the day. But with my dad it disappeared. It was having motor issues. Ran just slow. Not like it was supposed to. It was in 1988. Wish i could find it?
The MIP drive shafts are worth it. I thought the same thing. I've had 2 sets of hot racing shafts and they always seem to over extend the sliding (slider) driveshaft comes apart to often. Easy fix just agitating.. the MIP shafts cost more but less troublesome.
there’s a quality of nostalgia to this video…..love the fart noise lol.

LOve the wing thats cool as hell!
All that extra weight in the back might be affecting your steering

Gearing and battery doesn't change much on an xl5

The bearings in the hub will do that also a worn differential output gear
What body do you have on there. Looks sick🤙
J concept illusion
@@IRONCLADRC thank you
Nice build. What size tires are you running?
2.8 contact foam tire
Thank you
Just use WD40 or soak the shafts in oil to lube the HR shafts up . Good as new . Just my 2 cents .
Does ur rustler do burn outs
To make things short should have ask what pinion spur gear n battery ur running
Just was wondering what parts u would recommend for it before really upgraded to vxl
Mmm I'd say rear drive shafts and wheel hexes all the way around. Also wheel hubs by rpm front and rear. That's a good start
IS THAT A PROLINE BRUTE BODY
J concepts illusion body
Lil grease could've made tho hr drives last for a long time
I ended up using mip heavy duty
Looks like brake handles off a bike for the wing mount
Yea its actually a cutting board i hacked up
Hell ya he's a red neck 👌🗣️😂😝😜
What did you make wing brackets out of? Looked like paint brushes.
Cutting board. Some cutting boards are stronger than others experiment

wow 80 Euros (90-100dollars) are just wayyyyyy overprized for 2 frickin driveshafts
