Hi kev shame you have taken the custom rc parts of your outcast they are super, makes the steering much more precise and the car absorve the impacts much better.

4:45 Kev, you can pull the driveshaft I mean 'propshaft' (lol) out and it makes it much easier. it's spring loaded. You'd have to take that off to get into the motor or pinion as well. It is a pretty smart design though!

What does kv mean for a rc motor??
Im beginning with a new hobby so is higher always better??

Kv is how many rpm you get from 1v. For example 2000kv motor on 25v will do 50 000rpm. A higher kv motor has more speed but less torque. A lower kv motor has less speed but more torque.

I also love the wrenching vids , sometimes people have a quicker way of doing things and sometimes they do everything normally and each way I like watching as it just shows everything a person might have to come across one day when wrenching and it just gives a person a reference to remember before actually looking it up on TH-cam or whatever other way a person might have too ! Good vid Kev !! Keep them coming !! 👍✌️

One day I'm going to try your eBay course, just not at the moment while I've got school, maybe in the half term break.
My first hobby grade in 99 was a 2WD Rustler RTR The electronics were terrible lol It came with the old servo style mechanical speed controller Absolutely trash lol and the steering radius was terrible compared to the 1/10 Losi Team Associated etc After putting in all new electronics and modifying the steering it was decent on off road tracks but it really done well on dirt oval The RTR Rustler now is a lot better far as electronics but the rest is pretty much the same For the price it's a decent truck for a first hobby grade but it's not great for racing Get a Losi if you want to compete in racing 😁 Cool vid Kev ✌️

I put hot racing shock bodies on my granite and my senton after rebuilding the factory shocks and them leaking after the second use again. They seem to work very well and no leaks so far with no leaks

a upgraded arrma notorious 6s is probably the best rc for racing, stunting and easy to work on

First thing I did on my new outcast was get the hot racing shock bodies , they don’t leak a bit!
The other spur gear that didn't fit on the Rustler 4x4 is for use with a centerdiff instead of the slipper.

The arrmas are very easy to work on once you know what needs to come a part. I have broke the bulkhead on both my Senton and kraton a few times. I just bought a Arrma Typhoon going to see how that holds up.

Hi kev, loving that red on the 2wd rustler.. Man you right arrma need to sort it out on the 3s blx model shocks, my granite 3s blx shocks leak like no other shocks I've ever had, it's crazy, next week though mate I'll be doing a video should how to fix the leak all buy using tamiya damper orings, once done I'll link you to the video mate 👍

Hope the rear diff of the outcast rear diff was not contaminated with dirt when it broke and also the cracked chassi in the rear secure it with shoe goe or any glue or dort will get inside teh diff

Hey Kev, it sucks that you do not get many views from wrenching for some reason but personally, I love watching wrenching/building videos. Keep up the awesomeness. Oh and it doesn't make since that traxxes only put 6 screws in that bag when their own Slash has 8 on the truck.... LOL
Much more racing makes some great bits for your drill, i have them myself and have never striped a screw with them.

Kev when you get your maxx you should try out the Wide maxx kit which is supposed to make it wider so it will be more stable but I don’t know if it would make it break arms and bulkheads more

just a tip. dont tig weld the diff cup. superglue the bearing on place instead. the welder may screw with the hardness of the diffcup

You can get some hot racing 4s aluminum shock body’s front/ rear for your outcast same colour as ones pat put on his granite 4x4

Create a RC Car Dyno and do some tests
Make sure the driveshaft moves freely in that cup when the bearing is around it.

You're supposed to take the center drives haft of first and then the motor comes out easy

On my granite and Senton the pin braces piped out and never bothered replacing them they don't really do anything

Got a question. I use so many different Allen heads without knowing the size, and they always give me a fit with my pinion gear. Is there a certain size/recommendation brand that someone could tell me so I can stop digging around to find one that half ass works. Thanks in advance

The drive shaft collapses, it's spring loaded. Push the shaft to collapse it, then remove.
