- VH1 - TMF. Madonna's Greatest TV Moments. Part Five. A report/snippet on Madonna's marriage to Sean Penn, on her 27th birthday (16 August 1985), and her later spoof about the wedding on the TV show Saturday Night Live.
A music documentary reporting on a variety of Madonna's performances over the years, from her TV debuts in 1984 - on American Bandstand (performing Holiday) and MTV (performing Like A Virgin), her Justify My Love and Like A Prayer videos and controversies, through to her starring role in the film Evita, and her award-winning album, Ray Of Light. The documentary is interspersed with snippets of a Madonna interview. The documentary finishes with Madonna's Music album era.

I like what Rosie had to say. I couldn't agree with her more when she stated that famous people shouldn't marry each other. I like Sean as an actor but lost a lot of respect for him after I heard he beat Madonna up in the late 80's.

There needs to be some harassment boundaries regarding the press. Legally why are you public property to be followed and bothered just because you sang a song or worked on a movie. Are there no privacy laws to protect celebrities when do they cease to be considered private citizens?
Can I just ask what he was doing on her Material Girl set? Does he just stalk and hang around famous blonde ladies hoping they'll notice them? Lol.
I read somewhere once that he was friends with somebody on the set. I think I read further another time that he was friends with the director of the video, Mary Lambert.

Lei, ha sempre amato Sean, e gli vuole ancora un sacco di bene. In quegli anni ho seguito molto le cronache, e anche se ancora oggi hanno un bel rapporto, Sean ha picchiato Madonna, e anche in modo violento. Ricordo che nella denuncia diceva che Ubriaco fradicio, l’aveva legata ad una sedia, e l’aveva minacciata, credo con una mazza da baseball, che la violentava, e la picchiava in continuazione ...non mi meraviglio che abbia perso il bambino! Poi, puntualmente, ha ritirato tutte le denunce, perché in fondo L’ ha sempre amato.
Ricordiamoci che Madonna viene da un contesto famigliare, dove anche suo padre la picchiava sempre! Guardate il video di “ Oh father” ,
Lei bambina, suo padre, sua madre morta...lei adulta, con suo marito Sean, che beve e schiaffeggia. È tutto dannatamente vero.
Altro suggerimento: ascoltate bene “ live to tell” racconta il suo amore violento, e non come dice lei, i ricordi di una infanzia difficile.
Gli vuole ancora un bene dell’anima, e non ammetterebbe mai, ancora oggi, che inferno abbia passato all’epoca, come tutte le donne vittime di violenze.
