Poor Ellen Strange. I can only imagine what it as like on that bleak, lonely and bitter cold night. Then for her to be murdered is just so sad. Liked the video and the music went very well with it.
Glad you enjoyed it :-) We love to look into stories that have been passed down through the generations as much as the stories that are perhaps not as well known.
Very sad story, She Must have been freezing also being up in the moors at that time of night...Hope you find out a bit more about this case, especially where she is Interred.
We will be visiting both of the graveyards over the coming weeks to try and find her grave but we both feel that may be very difficult as if, for example, her family were just common folk, she may not have had a headstone or marking laid down when she was interred. Nevertheless, we are going to go out and take a look. As for the weather, whilst I only touched upon it in the video, it also went through my mind as to how cold it must have been considering the time of the year. The case is that old, there is hardly any documentation out there unfortunately. John Simpson has done a terrific job in finding what can be found but like all of the other stories we have covered, sometimes new info does pop up from seemingly nowhere! And sometimes we do get emails from people related to people in the stories, which is always a great thing to happen :-)
Aww many thanks for that! We hope you are enjoying the videos so far and we have ton's more to come that will involve true crime, local history, paranormal events and a lot more! Many thanks for your interest and support :-)
We believe she is buried in one of the two graveyards nearby to Holcombe. It might be difficult though to identify which grave and indeed, which graveyard she is in.
Spent many happy hours horse riding over Holcombe Perfect for blowing away the cobwebs of the mind never knew until now though what the stones were for
We would love a decent drone, but we are saving for a new camera at the moment. Hopefully, that will be paid for next month, and the quality of videos will improve immensely. Sound and picture AND how we present them 😅 but a drone is definitely something we have talked about.
I don't like how they've politicised this. Why are other violence victims not remembered in a special way. Would she be happy being used as a global political spectacle? People were more modest back then and had a totally different mindset to modern consumer culture. The concept of a nuclear family was still basically alien to them so the phrase "domestic violence" would mean something totally different, and would be outright insignificant in the face of things like child mortality or death during childbirth. Suppose she won't be left to actually rest in peace lol. If you gain some omnipotent knowledge upon death she'd be rolling in her grave over it I'm sure. Anyway apart from that i enjoyed the video lol

I bet a good ride up on them moors. Thanks for watching and commenting 😊
Would it be worth getting a drone to film the buildings or areas you can’t get to?
