This song comes as a huge relief. I was one of those who questioned how they could continue as a 4 piece. Last week, when I watched their new version of Oiran, I felt much better. I also knew that we had to wait for a new original song to be certain. I had no idea it would come so soon. This song not only met my hopes, but shot right past them. The fact that Mayu looks to be the composer of the song makes it even more special. I would say that Nemophila is back, but apparently they never left.
I never doubted they be fine. But I totally understood why many did question. But for me I just know how good this band is. I knew they be ok. The reworked versions are great and if you have not seen the uploaded 3 song NAONのYAON 2024 show that someone uploaded the other day check it out. They play Dissension,Revive and OSKR. Sounded amazing and none were reworked Hazuki shreds all the solos even Saki old parts and she was amazing of course. Happy to see her in the lead now full time. This band gonna be just fine.
They certainly are going to be continuing as a killer band with 4 of them. This song assures me of it. Heavy as hell versos' and beautiful/soaring chorus. This may be me favorite song of theirs. Thanks for reacting to this.
Since Nemo became a four-piece, it seems to me, that some chains have been removed from them. And I don't even mean that in a negative way towards Saki. She's a phenomenal guitarist for whom I'm also happy that her solo career is going better than she expected and whose songs I also really like. But it's also important to be honest, Saki has a certain presence that involuntarily took some of the spotlight away from the others. I've noticed this particularly in every Nemo stream since March. They seem freer, more as a unit than ever, friends who enjoy what they do and have a shared vision... This band may now 'only' be in the hands of 8 pretty hands, but these are highly talented and seem to hold together more than ever before, which for me results in: Nemophila = Level Up! 💪🏻🔥💮 _____________________ _"America invented rock. Mayu UNLEASHED!!! 🤘💪 I love that she is getting more aggressive and 'darker' in the harsh sections. Also, while it was obvious they would have to make some changes when Saki left, I never once doubted their ability to move on to even greater things if they wanted. WAY to much talent in the remaining 4 members!
Saki's departure has worked out well for everyone. Like most Nemo fans, I was worried, but as a long-time gigging musician, I also understand that it can become time to move on. It was a particular risk, though, with this amazing band because it was their phenomenal chemistry that always drove their meteoric rise. But I saw them live as a quartet almost a month ago (fourth time overall and seeing them again next month), and while that chemistry might be different now, it's as strong as ever. And while I haven't seen Saki's new stuff live yet (I had bad luck with the ticket lottery), what I've heard sounds absolutely amazing, too. I've really liked the "evolved" versions of older tracks they've released, with them showing that they could create arrangements for the reduced instrumentation that really work. But this new track really cements the deal, imo. It's powerful and innovative, with elements of the composition and arrangement that remind me of the genius-level stuff Matsuri produces (over and over) for Hanabie. Daring rhythmic change-ups, clever use of other instrumentation, dramatic shifts of style, but remaining coherent and always with the band's signature sound stamped all over it. I think the decision not to have a solo part from Hazuki in this one was a smart one. It allows the listener to focus on her fantastic riff-slinging and rhythm playing. She's just as good a rhythm player as she is a shredder, a balance not many players attain. Last observation: Tamu-chan just flat goes OFF in this one! She's one of the best drummers in metal...full stop.
Absolutely love Mayu's screams. This will be awesome live. Some layered vocals in this studio version, clean and harsh at the same time. Wondering if they will use track for one of those when they play it live, or just go with one. Yeah, they will be just fine moving forward.🤘🤘. Think this is the first release recorded as a 4 piece. There are some live performance as a 4, but those are all songs recorded with all 5.

If I had a wish it would be Nemophila playing with Lovebites. I've seen them twice live in SoCal and they were extremely taleneted and extremely engaged with the audience. It was fire. Mayu's vocals - screams and cleans are fantastic. Great bass work from Haraguchi-san, Tamu is one of the best drummers in Japan and Hazuki is right behind Midori & Miyako from Lovebites. Yes, they will be more than fine as a 4 piece.

A couple songs are (Headless Goddess, which I believe you reacted to the original by "DESTROSE" with Miho and Haruna), (Sky Pirates) and (Battle Against Justice)!!!!! For a cool sound of Mayu's voice listen to their cover of "SHOW YA's" (Fairy), her vocals fit the song perfectly!!!!! Thank you for what you do!!!!!
This is an interesting comment since Saki has been performing with Kami members recently. Specifically, BOH, ISAO and possibly Ohmura, or Leda Cygnus, but I may be confusing the last two with another female guitarist. I understand the point about Babymetal, meaning the women, don’t play instruments. The Kami’s play the music and the women handle the vocals. Many Kami members and the whole Eastern Kami’s rotated in and out through the years, but Babymetal remains. That wouldn’t happen if Su-Metal left. I will admit I actually had a touch of Babymetal vibes in part on my first listen. However, I am a Babymetal fan, as well as East of Eden and Lovebites. As a side note I also had vibes of Evanescence and Metallica’s symphony work. Take Care.
