The n64/ps2/ps1/gamecube/dreamcast/gameboy were my favorite eras of gaming. So much more fun and creative ideas back then so many good games. Nowadays you see ten thousand rehashes and sequels with little differences from the original and incomplete games that require dlc for the full experience and day 1 patches. Not that this era sucks or anything but the past was just so much better!

All that wonder and atmosphere of PS1 games, it was and is so dreamy and unique, especially after jumping to PS1 from Sega Genesis... it was perfect. I miss going out and changing CDs with the kids i knew, i miss the 'physical' multiplayer which required playing with my childhood mates at their places or at mine. I miss the love and hate relationship with memory card, i miss blowing into CD to make the game work, i miss the smell of new CDs and the smell of the console when CD cover was open (especially when it was new), i miss the controllers, fuck, i even miss the color of the console and the green power LED! Thank you PS1 for my childhood. However, it is very hard finding a person who shares same sentiments today. The problem is time, responsibilities and social environment. Many people who have enjoyed PS1 have forgotten it. The most awesome people in the gaming world are the people from that old generation who started at 8 bit then gradually climbed the gaming history ladder and have strong sentiments towards these old experiences. They are very few, compared with masses of todays gamer kids who started from league of legends, Xbox 1 or PS3 and don't know a gameplay other than online and some game that they have seen a popular youtuber playing oh and also, the graphics 'must not suck'. There is too much cringe, retarded, cancer content and the worst thing is that it gets upvoted in social media. Look at the majority of lets play videos whose authors are targeting at kids who prefer dumb jokes over immersion and quick rewards over quality content. These lets play videos not only ruin the understanding of what gaming is about, for most viewers but their idea spreads like cancer, plus, they make a demand for new games even dumber.

I remember when I first plugged in my PlayStation. I was so used to the Super Nintendo and since it was an age where reviews of content was left to magazines, I had no idea what to expect. The PlayStation turning on with that beautiful chime... It just hit me. And then the game started.. Odd world: Abes Odyssey. It looked, sounded and just felt beautiful and it caught me off guard. That was the most memorable morning of my life, let alone most memorable Christmas. Now looking back and hearing that sound.. its like I feel that sense of wonder all over again. Chills. Damn chills.
Naw it's the 20th anniversary theme and when you turn on your PS4 you hear both parts not just the second part. It's my favorite theme so far and all the other themes don't even compare.

This is a legendary console opening sequence. I will never forget the first time I switched on my PlayStation, and I saw this logo. It is the best opening of any console ever. It's such a simple opening, but very effective. And of course it's colourful, something you don't get these days.

This music came just before so many great games like Alien Trilogy, Tomb Raider 2, Resident Evil 1 and 2, Twisted Metal, Crash Bandicoot, Croc: Legend Of The Gobbos, V-Rally and so many more. Plus the intro was pretty creepy and made for a great setup for scary games

This is a legendary console opening sequence. I will never forget the first time I switched on my PlayStation, and I saw this logo. It is the best opening of any console ever. It's such a simple opening, but very effective. And of course it's colourful, something you don't get these days.
Takes me back to the 90s and early 2000s. Epic sound.

I love Playstation and i love the intro so much and it brings music to my ears :) . They were so many great games on the Playstation from my childhood like Crash Bandicoot 1,2 and 3, Spyro games, Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil , MediEvil and MediEvil 2, Spider-man, Rayman, Final Fantasy 7, Crash Team Racing, Speed Freaks , and the list goes on :) .
I still have my Playstation and i am so proud of it :)

I can't describe the feeling I get while watching this. I can feel it in my guts. A distant call of old, easier times. They'll never come back.
To think it was released almost 21 years ago. The Playstation 1 was a very revolutionary console for me. A bunch of nostalgia. It's raw use of 3D Graphics just set it off for me. The opening was always my favorite out of any game console I've played. Glad I still have one and games.
