Where can I get a square burner? I love your channel . I’m 68 and help my son with his side hustle of Euro mounts. I’ve learned so much watching your channel!!
@@OurTopPinLife Thank you so much for your help. A guy dropped off two maggot heads that he shot in August. After watching your channel I went and bought some clear 20% bleach and they came out white white. I had previously painted 40% cream bleach on them and they were yellow. Next season I’m going to get some clear dish soap and hopefully I can convince my son to build a shed on his new property and I can go visit instead of doing it in my backyard. But I do plan on getting him some of those square 200,000 BTU burners. Hope you’re having a fantastic day. Love from Utah
I do mine and my son's heads. I use a heater that keeps stock tanks from freezing. 180 degrees, for a couple of days in a 30 gallon plastic tub. Time is not an issue. I use a cup of dawn dish soap and store brand oxiclean in the water. I do have a power washer but like he says, car wash works fine. I don't whiten them because, hey, my house my rules.👍 Hog heads take longer and will have more grease in them. Leaving them longer helps but it will never be white white. You can slip the tusks out farther and glue them and they look like prehistoric beasts. They are prehistoric beasts. 🤠 Great video. Thanks.
@@OurTopPinLife My wife is disgusted by this process and doesn't like meat but it's set up in her greenhouse as supplemental heat so she kept my last hog head going for 2 weeks while I was deer hunting. Then for a few more days with my 10 point. She actually uses it more than I do. Separate likes, separate hobbies, separate freezers, happy home. 🤠👍
Awesome video man! Every time I thought of a question you eventually answered it. I wish I had found this last week. I attempted my first euro on Monday and had watched videos of guys saying just simmer and it took FOREVER. I ran out of time and will have to try to finish this weekend. I have 3 more to do and will definitely be mirroring your process. Thanks
I Do not have a skull, but a small pair of antlers from my grandpa, that I would like to mount. Thank you for sharing, I am going to go back and look at some of your older ones.
This is very interesting! I know it's a lot of work, but the finished product is definitely a conversation starter! My ex did some squirrels and ducks back in the 80's, so I know it's a lot of work.😀🇺🇸😀
Ya that’s a lot of work . I like the marker idea at end . I use that same idea on furniture lol . I’d prob pay you to do it . I’m to lazy ha ha . Good video .
Have you experienced antler discoloration from boiling without wrapping the antlers? I simmered my first skull for hours with the antlers poorly wrapped and lost antler color. Will stain though. Thanks for the great vids
Great video, very informative! I use this same method but spend probably too much time (about 45 minutes) scraping with a screwdriver after I power wash. What nozzle are you using to power wash with?
That was pretty cool! Have you ever thought about using those pain in the buy fire ants to clean it out? We used them to clean out crabs for mounting. They will get it all. Maybe try after the first boil and powerwash. Might take longer but you could be sitting on the porch jawing with a friend. Just an idea.
Man that's pretty good buddy so do you sell them like that or do you have to I mean how does that go how does that work and how much is it worth or how much are you selling them for once again another great video you break it down make it seem real easy good job and say hi to your family and hope to find them in good spirits God bless y'all and tell the boys happy Halloween trick or treat buddies !👍🇱🇷👍
Love the videos man! Been boiling skulls myself for over a decade now and have always painted on the whitener. This will be my first year boiling them to whiten, my question is do you pre soak any of the skulls that you have to hydrate them before you simmer em in the peroxide? Some skulls I do completely dry after I clean em before I get the chance to whiten em and wondering if its better to soak em in water for a day before boiling em in the peroxide? Thanks in advance
I never let a skull dry out once it's been skinned. I always keep them in water until they are finished. If I get a head from a customer that is skinned and dried out I will soak it for several days before I work on it.
Removing the eyes and brain eliminate a lot of the grease. A flathead and a hammer will remove those two pieces of bone behind the ear drum pretty easy. Few small taps.
Air compressor. Have to try that. I usually stir with a filet knife and if the pressure washer is hooked up stick the turbo tip in it. Comes with most ryobi pressure washers. It’s great inside the brain cavity after cooking.
I am doing three skull mounts ,already boiled them and bleached em with 40 Volume cream developer and basic white, skulls are white but I have little worms crawling around, what did I do wrong ,can you help thanks
Enjoy the videos. How long would you let a deer and coyote head thaw before skinning and boiling? Also, I bought the 40 volume peroxide, so I'm assuming I can cut that in half?
By far the best tutorial for European mounts I’ve watched! Helped out a lot

Thank you for sharing your experience and expertise. Very much appreciated.

@@cherrilove896 We had to start charging extra for rotting heads because people were taking advantage of it.

It can happen. We just use stain.

Academy.
Ok may ask what Academy might be

Do you keep the nasal turbanets intact?
Yes and no. When we macerate we do. When we boil we don't because you have to get all the meat behind those nose.
When done add one coat of basic mop n glow in blue bottle. Will keep it from yellowing and or flaking. Won’t dry glossy.
Great suggestion! Thanks.
Interesting our friend does this
Great video, very informative! I use this same method but spend probably too much time (about 45 minutes) scraping with a screwdriver after I power wash. What nozzle are you using to power wash with?
Its the 0 degree which shoots a straight stream.

We've tried every method possible. We tried dermestid beetles for one season but they were a hassle!
So you no longer use beetles?
Do you seal your heads? If so, what do you use to seal them?
No, we do not put any sealer on the heads. Once they are rinsed from the whiting, nothing else goes on the bone.

Amazon.
What size spray nozzle and what PSI pressure washer do you use? Thank you.
0 degree

I normally blow the brains out with an air compressor before I boil. After I boil I remove the ear buds and drill them out

No

We let our heads sit out a minimum of 48 hours before skinning. If it is cold outside we may bump that to 72 hours.
Yes, that should work.
@@OurTopPinLife thank you, and Merry Christmas!
Is a 2300 psi to strong ?
Yes. Typically ours are 2,000, and even with that PSI we have to use caution.
Do you seal your skulls with anything?
No

We just shot a 12 point moose and are doing this to the head!
wow! 12 points is huge! A skull mount of that will be incredible. Congrats on an awesome kill. :)
