    I have one question sir ...........i think gate current(Ig) is zero bc of the silicon oxide material insulating the gate to allow currenr but u mentioned as Vg gets higher current also rises

    Can you also explain how to calculate Rce from output characteristics(Ic vs Vce).
    If possible taking an example from a IGBT datasheet. (IGW25N120H3) and Vge = 15V.

    I think the saturation region is towards the left side of the output characteristics curve and the active region is the middle part of the curve.

      It is easy to get confused because a mosfet is usually show to have a saturated region where the bipolar is shown to have an active region. The igbt is usually shown to have the characteristics of a bipolar transistor so the saturated region is on the left and the active region in the middle, before breakdown region. This tutorial shows something completely different.

      When that particular area of p region gains electrons....the electrons becomes the majority carriers of that particular section...so that section eventually becomes an N REGION. So their is a clear path to flow current from...P to N...i.e from collector to emitter
