Virtual offices work great, never had a problem. Also I manage multiple business with the same phone number. Google doesn't care about the phone number because when you log into the gmb and turn on call history, google will show a different number to the customer (a call tracking number). I still use business name of city and point to a separate page on the website without any issues.
I suggest you read google's guidelines "Service-area businesses, or businesses that serve customers at their locations, should have one profile for the central office or location with a designated service area. Service-area businesses can't list a "virtual" office unless that office is staffed during business hours." support.google.com/business/answer/3038177?hl=en

If so would you recommend we split up our service areas between both profiles and maybe have each profile target the service area that are closer to each office so that neither profiles overlap or have any similar service areas listed? An answer to this would be very helpful, as we are planning on opening a separate location and we think that a 2nd GMB profile would definitely be helpful with the new location strategy !
Hi Angel. If you're opening a second location for the same business the services you provide will be the same but the areas you serve will be different hence not overlap. Therefore I would definitely recommend you split up your service areas between both profiles and have each profile target the service area that is closer to each office

My potential client has a Chimney Sweeping Business named SootServ Chimney Cleaning. This is a service area business, so he do not have a storefront. The business has 11 different service areas across the state of Louisiana each in a different city. He Has made several listings for this business in the past but they all get suspended even though He uses real addresses. Google does not let his business have multiple service area listings with the same name across the state. He has separate location website pages and phone numbers for each different listing. He has 11 locations and needs those set up. Can you please reply to me when you get a chance?

Hi Steve. Unless you have an address in the city you are trying to serve, you won't be able to create a listing for it. It will be almost near impossible to rank in Google maps for that city with your listing based at your home address. You might be able to rank in generic searches if you have some great content pages on your website about the cities you serve. The bottom line is, look into getting a legitimate address in the cities you serve so you can create listings and become more visible.

You should add the same website. The best strategy is to create a location page for that location on your site and optimise it for that location so you can link to it from your 2nd profile.

Hi Bexta Beats. It's not a question of time but more a question of location. I am not sure what industry you are in but if it's really competitive, ranking in a 10 k radius is unlikely to happen especially since google updated its algorithm in December. Proximity to the searcher is more important than ever. If you want to rank for a particular city you'd better have an address for that city otherwise it's almost impossible.
As a webdev I found its usefull to set different working hours/days if you have more than one place where you work. In my case coworking area for 2 days in week and another place /office for the rest of the week. Isn't it a good approach?

Hi Luis the details associated with your business come from the information you provided when creating and updating a verified business listing, reports from users, and other sources." "Other sources" means information found online. So, while it's possible that a malicious user is changing your details, these cases often arise when business information is inconsistently listed across the internet. Google's algorithm finds conflicting data and settles on something different from what you've entered in GMB. So, look for information where your business is listed such as Yelp, Facebook. This is what is likely causing the problem. The solution is to make sure information is consistent everywhere your business is listed online.

Thanks Shannarogan. It isn't possible to move a google business profile to another country. You will have to mark your old business listing as permanently closed and create a completely new listing in the country you are moving to
I am a marketing consulting for car rental companies in multiple states. i am based out of NJ but have clients in Atl, Cali, MiA, Dallas, Houston And ofcorse NJ. I was wondering with the owners permission if i can use the companies address that im marketing for as MY address on my 2nd google listing?
I'm afraid you can't. You don’t have the authority to represent these businesses. If you stopped working for your clients it would create a lot of issues to try and remove the address from being associated with your business everywhere online.
In the second scenario, If the locations address isnt displayed in the listing then it doesn't show up as often as listings that show an address. Question: If a Google Local Guide level 7 or higher leaves a review on a listing that shows an address, is that listing less likely to get suspeneded even if the address is fake?
If you're having to ask about something that is fake or that is a shortcut, then I advise against it. There really aren't shortcuts in SEO. You have to put in the work.

This is what the guidelines say "Your name should reflect your business’ real-world name, as used consistently on your shopfront, website, stationery and as known to customers" so technically you shouldn't add Dalton in your name at all

No, adding NEW business profile. You have company called Zinc in Florida and you want to add another business profile for Zinc located in Miami. Google Maps says you already manage this profile. Get it? No, it's not the old one which I already manage but it is a new one.

Okay I've already created a Google my business a while back before it was enhanced and I used the city name that I'm in in the name of that business. If I created a second Google my business, could I use a different city name or just leave the city name out? In addition to that, my business is pretty much global. So is Google my business really not going to help me except for the ones that I can put a location in for?
- You should use your business name and not add the city name as it is against google's guidelines - If your business is global and you don't deal with customers face to face you not be legible for a listing

You can create as many Facebook pages as you want. Up to your client if they want to. There is a way of creating dedicated FB pages for each of your location and manage them separately. I made a video on this a long time ago. You might want to check it out although the interface would have changed a lot by now
Thanks. One question: If the (SERP Overlap Score) and (Relevance Score ) are over 50, do I have to merge both keywords on one page or can I, but don't have to? For some keywords + city I see different results, sometimes no "Relevance Score" at all and for some cities 40 to 50! So I thought for all cities to make separate pages, is that a good decision?

As always a great video. Thank you. I have several clients that are local service HVAC companies. We have been creating city pages, and we have seen their reach improve again. What's your thoughts on this as a person could truly go overboard on making service specific pages for each city and end up generating 60+ pages!
Thanks Jeff. If your city pages work you, can carry on. The worst than can happen is google might eventually filter them out from its results. Monitor ranking for them regularly. When/if they drop out change the content so they are unique

Due to being suspended (I think it was related to images), I set up new profiles, which then got accepted. Now, I wish to delete the old, suspended, profiles. It actually seems that it is possible. You just need to dig into the menus. Thanks for all the helpful advice and tips.

I have tried multiple GMB listings in 2018-2019 and they got suspended. But from what I can tell, there is no way to setup a NEW Service Area listing without a physical office? Last thing I want to do is get my main GMB suspended, but I have struggle issues trying to get seen in my other 2 cities. I can not afford physical locations in those areas and staff them with a human for no reason. Can you confirm that is the case?
AS long as you stick to the Google's guidelines and you follow the advice from the video you will be fine. If you can't it means you are not eligible for a second listing.
But you can still do local SEO without an extra Google my business listing. Google my business is important but it's not the end all of getting traffic. I could elaborate but not trying to compete with the op.

@@rankingacademy I manage 23 GMB's for businesses. I was on the Google Business Profile Manager page (desktop) and it asks do you want to use the Google Maps app to manage your profiles. I "think" (I'm not sure) I must have accidentally clicked that. And now I cannot get that page back. It keeps forcing me to the app.
That’s not an issue. Not sure what business vertical you’re in or the number of competitors you are facing but it’s unlikely your listing will rank that far

What is your question exactly?

Franchise follow the same principle. Names of listings should be the same everywhere. (Think mc donalds)

You can try. Make sure you use different primary categories and that the website links point to different pages.

I have a question, I run a service based biz. If I open a new profile say with my home address, It wont show on google since it's a service based biz and its not required to show on the profile correct. Would this be acceptable??

How long does it generally take to rank around 10 kilometres away I am posting posts very regularly, uploading photos, building my own website to have specific keywords and services areas to help with local Seo. Hi Bexta Beats. It's not a question of time but more a question of location. I am not sure what industry you are in but if it's really competitive, ranking in a 10 k radius is unlikely to happen especially since google updated its algorithm in December. Proximity to the searcher is more important than ever. If you want to rank for a particular city you'd better have an address for that city otherwise it's almost impossible.

Nobody can stop you but if the purpose is to claim an extra listing that is not legitimate it might end up being suspended

As a webdev I found its usefull to set different working hours/days if you have more than one place where you work. In my case coworking area for 2 days in week and another place /office for the rest of the week. Isn't it a good approach?
If you are in a coworking place i would suggest you read google’s guidelines as in most cases coworking spaces are not eligible

the details associated with your business come from the information you provided when creating and updating a verified business listing, reports from users, and other sources."
"Other sources" means information found online. So, while it's possible that a malicious user is changing your details, these cases often arise when business information is inconsistently listed across the internet. Google's algorithm finds conflicting data and settles on something different from what you've entered in GMB.
So, look for information where your business is listed such as Yelp, Facebook. This is what is likely causing the problem. The solution is to make sure information is consistent everywhere your business is listed online.

Would a Rental Agreement be considered an official form of documentation for a second location...we run a dumpster rental business and rented a lot for our equipment at our second location

Thanks Shannarogan. It isn't possible to move a google business profile to another country. You will have to mark your old business listing as permanently closed and create a completely new listing in the country you are moving to

I'm afraid you can't. You don’t have the authority to represent these businesses. If you stopped working for your clients it would create a lot of issues to try and remove the address from being associated with your business everywhere online.
In the second scenario, If the locations address isnt displayed in the listing then it doesn't show up as often as listings that show an address. Question: If a Google Local Guide level 7 or higher leaves a review on a listing that shows an address, is that listing less likely to get suspeneded even if the address is fake?
Nope
If you're having to ask about something that is fake or that is a shortcut, then I advise against it. There really aren't shortcuts in SEO. You have to put in the work.

This is what the guidelines say "Your name should reflect your business’ real-world name, as used consistently on your shopfront, website, stationery and as known to customers" so technically you shouldn't add Dalton in your name at all

Sounds like you are trying to create a listing you already manage
No, adding NEW business profile. You have company called Zinc in Florida and you want to add another business profile for Zinc located in Miami. Google Maps says you already manage this profile. Get it? No, it's not the old one which I already manage but it is a new one.

Okay I've already created a Google my business a while back before it was enhanced and I used the city name that I'm in in the name of that business.

In addition to that, my business is pretty much global. So is Google my business really not going to help me except for the ones that I can put a location in for?
- You should use your business name and not add the city name as it is against google's guidelines
- If your business is global and you don't deal with customers face to face you not be legible for a listing

Luc... One more question that's slightly off-topic. If a client opens a second GMB location, should they, or better yet can they open a second FB business page?
You can create as many Facebook pages as you want. Up to your client if they want to. There is a way of creating dedicated FB pages for each of your location and manage them separately. I made a video on this a long time ago. You might want to check it out although the interface would have changed a lot by now

As always a great video. Thank you. I have several clients that are local service HVAC companies. We have been creating city pages, and we have seen their reach improve again. What's your thoughts on this as a person could truly go overboard on making service specific pages for each city and end up generating 60+ pages!
Thanks Jeff. If your city pages work you, can carry on. The worst than can happen is google might eventually filter them out from its results. Monitor ranking for them regularly. When/if they drop out change the content so they are unique

Due to being suspended (I think it was related to images), I set up new profiles, which then got accepted. Now, I wish to delete the old, suspended, profiles.
It actually seems that it is possible. You just need to dig into the menus.

I have tried multiple GMB listings in 2018-2019 and they got suspended. But from what I can tell, there is no way to setup a NEW Service Area listing without a physical office? Last thing I want to do is get my main GMB suspended, but I have struggle issues trying to get seen in my other 2 cities. I can not afford physical locations in those areas and staff them with a human for no reason. Can you confirm that is the case?
AS long as you stick to the Google's guidelines and you follow the advice from the video you will be fine. If you can't it means you are not eligible for a second listing.
But you can still do local SEO without an extra Google my business listing. Google my business is important but it's not the end all of getting traffic. I could elaborate but not trying to compete with the op.

@@rankingacademy I manage 23 GMB's for businesses. I was on the Google Business Profile Manager page (desktop) and it asks do you want to use the Google Maps app to manage your profiles. I "think" (I'm not sure) I must have accidentally clicked that. And now I cannot get that page back. It keeps forcing me to the app.

That’s not an issue. Not sure what business vertical you’re in or the number of competitors you are facing but it’s unlikely your listing will rank that far
