    it's great to see an honest review. I really appreciate this, because yeah, all gear videos these days they get sent the product and aren't allowed to give their honest opinions without breaking relationships with the company. Which is obviously fair, but guys like you are what the guitar community needs. What also annoys me a bit about most TH-camrs, is that they will do one video on the gear, then never talk about it again. There's overwhelming amount of plugins and modelers these days. I wish these big channels would do an ultimate shootout video of every modeler they got sent, I mean they're gathering dust on their shelves anyway.

    Okey the tone capture feature is the huge point that makes me want one. No need for the kemper. Fuck yes. Nice video! Also keep your honesty and i agree with the advertisement inside my ones loved TH-cam channels.

      Well, I just bought Helix a few months ago. I was so disappointed on the sound quality. I've played it all week and I know Helix does NOT sound what everyone says. I returned it back to Sweetwater. Now, I will never ever buy anything from Line 6. Period.

    Fiddling, tweaking and every other knob f****** sucks. Every digital odyssey ends with a Kemper. Every other "analog" downsizing rig solution ends with a Bluguitar Amp1, imho. I claim to have tried and tested almost every modern solution but for me... as I said.

    I own an ge 200 and can relate a little using IRs changes everything with that unit. I'm just a bit curious as to why you wouldn't use it for recording. The tone capture sounded great man. If you switched back and forth enough I might have not been able to tell the tone capture from the real amp to be honest.

    At last, someone who can really appreciate the ENGL amps. I see a lot of negativity about ENGL on the internet, which in my humble opinion is totally biased and non factual. Everytime I plug in to an ENGL I am right at home, the heavy channels are always crushing with great bass response and clarity. My next one is going to be the savage mark 2. Oh and there built in noise gates are awesome as well. Great comparison though. Not a bad device

    • @stuh84
      @stuh84 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It all depends. I own an Engl Invader 150 and love it, and my previous main amp (going back over a decade here) was an Engl Thunder 50. Both fantastic
      However I've never got on with the Powerball or Fireball, or the SE. They just aren't my kind of amp. The Savage though, brilliant in my opinion.
      Essentially it's not just a case of "All Engls are amazing" or "All Engls are terrible", but very much down to personal taste.

Other platforms have eliminated this by using snapshots or scenes. Mooer needs to do the same. I know that with the 4 cable method the ge 300 can only "listen to" or rather analyze the preamp of an amplifier but with the new tube amp expander which has an fx loop basically after the poweramp section of the amp you're using you could probably make the ge 300 analyze the whole amp right?

  • @uragonertoo1335

    I have some questions. Can you put different amps and effects in the left and the right stereo fields. ex clean ampw/ chorus on right channel , a little distortion and delay on the left ? Is there a limit to the daisy chain of effects or their order ? I have a Boss synyth and most of the instruments sound the way they are supposed to after some eq tweeks. However the demos I have seen on you tube of this unit have failed to demonstrate that. Ola Englund has one and the flute doesn't sound like a flute, nor the trumpet. He however, isn't changing his playing style and that could be a part of the problem on his video. Your opinion or even a video on the subject , thanks. Is the expression pedal when used as a wah, programmable ? Does it have several types and can you control their range . I use a GT 100 by Boss and a problem was it had too much wah roll over, but I changed it at low to 20 instead of 0 all the way up and 80 instead of 100 all the way down and it allowed for a much more subtle wah that I can also use as a tone control to some degree as well. Thanks.

    I'm old and trying to figure out a way to record and play live with the least amount of equipment. That said, I don't think I would use this. Not because of the tones but partially, but also because of the fact it's too hard to get good tones without trouble.

    Let's summarize: tone capture, amp sim, IR and lot of effects, synth and too expensive? I do not think so. Mooer Preamp costs close to 400 €. When we subtract the cost of Mooer Preamp, the cost is much closer to Mooer ge 200. The price seems good, especially since it offers something different than the competition, so it's difficult to compare it to Line6. Of course, I would like the equipment to be cheaper, but if we approach it as I described earlier, it makes sense.

      there are some small differences. ge300 supports stereo fx effects (you can use 4 knobs hall of fame with all inputs and outputs with ge300).
      FX A block in ge300 also has 5 more drive pedals. overall more effects than ge250. for instance equalizer in ge300 has 10 band equalizer while ge250 has 6 band at most.
      if it is the sound quality you seek the most, then boss gt1000 is unbeatable. it has a lackluster tetris like screen though which I don't quite like but it sounds really good.

    From the price point of view, how do you compare this to Kemper?

  • @witeshade
    @witeshade 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    It does seem like a good product overall but it just still seems like it's too expensive. The tone capture is cool but what happens if you don't have access to a good amp? Then you're stuck with crappier tones, right?
    I still feel like Mooer just doesn't have the reputation to charge that kind of money yet. If you are already within reach of Line6 or something else established, why go for second or third best?
    And what happens if you're on tour with the Mooer and it dies? Line6 or kemper or axefx are not too hard to find, but what about this thing? It could be a big problem.

      Reputation? Wth dude, you serious? My ge 200 sounds waaaaay better than the line 6 stuff...

    • @witeshade
      @witeshade 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jeansawiska Mooer doesn't have a bad reputation, far from it. But unless they're a bit of a gear nerd, it's only just now that the regular guitarist may actually have heard of them. The GE200 is an example of what they are doing right- it's affordable enough to be worth a gamble, and good enough to be an absolute win for someone who buys it. But, the GE300 is in an entirely different ballpark of price, to the point where it's a lot harder to take the gamble on it being worth the money. And while it does look pretty good, I just think it's gonna be a really hard sell for the average guitarist, who has seen line6 developing for a decade, and Mooer who they maybe heard of once or twice.

      @@MilianMalivukMusic hey got a couple of dumb questions, to do a tone capture you actually need the physical amp or pedal ? Or is there an online community/ database you can download captured Sims from?
      What is the process of doing a tone capture if someone doesn't have a focus rite or use recording DAW? Does the Moore have software to do all this like it does to tweak sound settings online?

      Soulhenge dude i like your reviews... i did plunge for one of these , like yourself i have a money back if not happy , im struggling to see how i could though i love it.
      I think though when it comes down to a helix lt, boss gt 1000 or this which ever one you get eventually you will bend and tweak it to your will, i think the helix and boss will be safer bets there reputable , but this ge300 is more diverse but more of a gamble .... no matter what fan boys will defend there brand the same as xbox v ps4 v pc do ! Ive taken a plunge on mooer for the tone capture and the synth, ive dialed in and very slightly had to tweak to get my tones and like you said live/ or in a mix that 5% wont be missed .
      If your smart you can find discount codes to get your units cheaper like i did.
      Maybe this pedal preaches to a slightly different crowd.
      My advice try all 3 in person before committing i just feel which ever one you plunge for you will be happy.
