I love how Jocko just lets him talk. Let’s him vent. Let’s him deal with his issues and doesn’t make any negative reference to his emotions. This is two men who know they’re hurting and they support each other.

You can't? Just...try it. Take a friend of yours, imagine the two of you in a situation where you rely on eachother to stay alive, and then boom. He gets shot in the head right in front of you. Pretty easy to imagine, actually.

My Father committed suicide as I was still dealing with my separation and pending divorce.
My immediate superiors didn't even talk to me for 3 days after I returned from the funeral. Instead they advised me to schedule classes with Mental Health and avoided me.
To see you two gentlemen give the respect to your teammates and allow one another the space to express yourselves...I can only imagine the bond, the Brotherhood that has been forged.
22 years later I've won my battle with alcoholism, but feel the loneliness of isolation at times. I watch these podcasts and it renews my mind.

This is one thing that influenced my decision between college and military if I'm being totally honest, same with anything in the crime field in general. I don't think I have it in me like these guys do to wake up every day knowing I may lose somebody, and I know for a fact I wouldn't be able to handle waking up every day after losing somebody. This is a great example why people need to put more respect to members of the military. Maybe not as a group (a military is never clean as history has shown time and time again) but the individuals themselves are just people.

Imagine the happiest of man (garden of Eden, family of joy and growth and everything else you can think of), for that man to "surrender his life", when eternal life/off this planet doesn't have anything more to offer, for another person. That is what I think is intended by the words "no greater love", but I might be wrong, welp.

@@iChimoRawr yea, that’s what I was saying. Dying for someone else. Really no better way to die than through sacrifice. Jesus died for a worthless sinner like me so to die saving someone else is the ultimate honor and duty as a Christian. Ridiculous how Christians have been demonized and made to look horrible by the media, tv shows, movies, and social media. A true Christian loves everyone more than they love themselves, does not judge others, and should be willing to die for their fellow human beings, even your enemies.

The connection made with brothers oversea is unbelievable. Even if you dislike the person, you would still die for that person. Outside of first responders, it's the strongest brotherhood that most people could never truly understand unless they lived it.

Touching video. Death is hard. But death is not the end. If you believe, being absent from life means being present with God.

What kind of soulless person gives this video a thumbs down? How sad is that?
Thank you JP and Jocko for doing what you are doing. We need more people like you.

Some people and even veterans realize their sacrifices for American safety also pad the pockets of big corporations and imperialism. Fucking unnecessary and sad to die for that reason.

I'm not even American (european) but all the same things apply here. I know these guys watch over me somewhere in a far off country and I'm PROUD and HUMBLED to know that these absolute Spartan War Gods are willing to lay down their life to protect the freedoms and luxuries I enjoy.
    God bless you

Walking point with a bolt action 300winmag? Yeh that's a LITTLE crazy. Unless, being spec ops, you're allowed such a freedom of weapon choice that they'll let you field one of those Nemo 300winmag ARs. With enough practice I suppose you could get speedy follow up shots and manage to keep up a reasonable volume of fire even with 300winmag at the shoulder.

Jocko, just wondering how well you knew my friend Ryan Young, SEAL Team 8, Charlie Platoon, that died working for Triple Canopy in 2005. We graduated high school together and worked at a local grocery store in the late 80’s. His birthday just passed and just wondering...

PATRIOTIC = tears with you guys, compassion for you guys, pride with you guys, sympathy and empathy for the families and friends of your fallen brothers, the squinting of your eyes when you look at our flag, standing, comprehend the meaning of the losses of our warriors(2 and 4 legged), appreciate the sacrifice...yes for us...but more for the innocent children and oppressed in the countries you guys have served...etc NON PATRIOTIC =...quite simply...they just do not get it In 1970-71i(sh).....my moms best friend across the street changed her blue star to a gold star....things were never the same. Thanks JP, Jocko and the rest, for keeping the names relevant
