    You seemed to have succeeded where Martin Moline refused to go. The Archimedes screw. I knew this would work. A full test can only be done with thousands of marbles. This seems to be demonstrating only a few dozen marbles. GREAT Start for this point of development.

      Agreed-I always thought the Archimedes lift would have been a likely/viable solution (as it’s commonly used in many industrial settings-so it’s already a proven design).
      Impressed that it was so quickly recognized here as a potential option-and quickly tested, and implemented!

    Congratulations! So impressed seeing you being able to quickly assess problems, and knowing when to switch mechanisms/techniques and try a different approach
    It appears that you’re making the correct assessments AND correct decisions!
    And double-impressed that you’re doing this all with hand-crated parts

    This is what everybody recommended to Martin, but he insisted on the lift. Ah well.

    Great video! The machine is looking really nice, I'm looking forward to more. A small suggestion, in my opinion the transitions between different music tracks is a bit too frequent and rough. Some stronger fading from one track to the next would be nice. Regardless, amazing job!

    I'm more software engineering than mechanical engineering, so forgive my ignorance, but when a lot of marbles crowd the first screw, would they not fall into the other three? Keeping a certain flow of marbles per second just requires all 4 screws not be overloaded, I think, even if it's unbalanced.
    I feel like I'm misunderstanding this, though. Either way, you probably have a working design in the works already that will make this comment obsolete. Can't wait to see what you come up with!

    I just had a Marble Lift idea for you!!! (For your consideration of course 🙂) What if the marble lift was filling from a "Pool" style collection rather than feeding the lift head on or channel by channel? If the marbles collect in a container, the screws can "dig them out"? Then, all inlets of the lift would have the same feed rate. After all, you totally inspired this idea from the original concept art of the screw to begin with... hahaha Great work on the machine! Love watching your progress!!

    • @TKMUSIC_
      @TKMUSIC_  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, there are already cymbals on the machine (crash, ride and hihat), I just need to connect them to the registrators and make some adjustments.

    • @TKMUSIC_

      Currently I have to change the pins in the programming wheel by hand, but I plan to build two or more programming wheels and a system so they can be easily changed.

    Is the machine designed to lift marbles faster than it drops them - such that there will never be many marbles at the bottom?

    • @TKMUSIC_
      @TKMUSIC_  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly, this is the reason why we need 8 marbles per crank turn.

    At 4:40 marbles slip down the lift?

    • @TKMUSIC_
      @TKMUSIC_  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great eye. The wooden rail was too loose, but the system itself worked perfectly. So later I added rods of wood to support the wooden rails.

    My solution to the fact that there's too much marbles in lift #1? MORE MARBLES !

    • @peterkelley6344
      @peterkelley6344 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It should not matter where most of the marbles are. They will be redistributed as more marbles are introduced.

      What happened to Vintergatan's MMX? I stopped watching around all test vids. Why did he give up, or what happened? Did he realize his build was too unrefined enginering wise?
