You can play factorio for thousand of hours, but after some time you might ran out of ideas what to do. This is why I properad a list of 63 things that will give you some ideas. Speedrunning, building weird stuff or doing even weirder things for fun. I wouldn't use this video as a Factorio tutorial or guide, however that are also a few useful things.

If you ever get bored in Factorio, repeat to yourself. "THE FACTORY MUST GROW" and then there. You have a new goal in sight.
Yeah, just look for a bottleneck and expand it. This will create a new bottleneck.
You forget the next step: play "children of the Omnissiah 1hour version"
If you are bored, double the size of your factory
When I get bored in mp factorio I usually write "the factory must grow" or "f*ck your planet" in progressively bigger or more complex signs.
Or just change your username to match
If you're bored, always remember that there's a tonne of environmentalists out there that needs the factory's fresh air. They can dance to the beat of the spider DJ.

I mean, Factorio did nail the looks of environmentalists to a tee. And it also has turrets to deal with them.
@@livedandletdie ah, turrets to deal with them and spidertron for peaceful negotiations. Factorio truly is a model game for all aspiring entrepreneurs and engineers.

About 60: If you get REALLY BORED, install both krastorio and space exploration. Creators cooperate with each other to make those overhauls compatible. But be carefull, our 3-person multiplayer map has 150h+ and we still barely scratched the surface. at this point we spend 8h just to make "small things" to improve quality of life or make our base prepared for bigger projects (which are still nothing if you look at things you can do). Those 2 overhauls make factorio such a big game, it is NOT a great idea to introduce to beginners, but go for it if you have anyone to play with!

I recently started playing this again after about a year. Just remembering how everything works. And I decided to switch it up. Instead of making a main bus, I'm just building wherever. Now that's challenging. My mid game is terrible.
7:04 Circuits are great for balancing oil products
If heavy > light then pump heavy into chemical plant
If light > petroleum pump light into chemical plant
It's the only practical way I've used circuits but admittedly I get bored and stop playing after blue science.
I have circuit that kicks on boilers when solar power is not meeting base requirements. Boilers don't take more resources if the engines have nothing to supply, so I have a switch that closes when accumulator charge drops to 25% and opens when it gets back up to 80%.

You can use a similar system for a reactor that stores extra steam and only fuels itself when power levels drop.
@@shiinondogewalker2809 If they do, then that must be a fairly new thing. The ran constantly when unless accumulators were full back when I made the circuit.
There is an auto system in place for power balancing, it will use solar, then nuclear, then steam. It’s not the most efficient as it will be like 40% nuclear and 20% steam for example. I also use circuits for refineries by coal liquification but that requires lots of balancing to get right to be able to pump out each chemical no matter what the demand
Number 64:
Take a break from the game and when you come back you will be able to enjoy the game as before
And then see your family after 10 years
I took about an 18 month break before the 1.0 release. Went back and dumped another like 400 hours.
Honestly the only reason I don't still play is because I am busy IRL, if I could retire tomorrow I would play Factorio a LOT

I once spent an hour making a really silly circuit network. It would take a set of 600 iron plates and split them into a set of 400 and a set of 200. Even if the input then had excess, it wouldn't let things go until the two output chests were empty. It was for.. inserters (I think?) that needed 1 iron gear and 1 iron plate (and other things) and I wanted to be efficient with my iron.
It's really stupid, but it works!

Another suggestion: Speedruns and challenge runs. Example: Can you complete the game without any conveyor belts in less than 12 hours?

Thanks for this! ive been a little burnt out on Factorio, but this video has given me a few good ideas of fun stuff to do.
Also, the achievement part brought back memories. My big brain decided to go for both steam all the way and logistics network embargo in my first game. Honestly, it wasn't that bad. Sure my factory looks like shit, but it was worth it!
that train red/green lamp signal is so cool to see combined with gates who trigger red train signals as crossway
I really like the circuit network stuff. I can manage the production speed when upstream materials are not sufficient, or cut the power using SR latch. Or I can activate some extra production line to get rid of byproducts. There are tons of other ways of utilizing the circuit network!

i think there's a 20 000 SPM seablock save that runs 60 UPS on some systems
(not abusing the bug with prod and insane speed)

I took apart my base and rebuilt it by hand because I had a very special multiple-islands world where the starting base was good... but needed serious upgrades. Upgrades that only came with dismantling the whole thing and rebuilding it, though.
I feel I could comment anything and Trupen would put a heart on it.

I come for the content, I stay for the accent
- Fill your inventory with stuff for a new game plus before the mod author decides to halve all stacksizes and log in after the update.
- Build a counter for rocket launches that saves the value to a DISK with a microcontroller mod.
- Build a circuit that loads an exact amount of something (like 10 iron plates) into a train that just arrived.
- I really enjoyed the Lazy achievement...

There's always room for improvement.

There's actually 1 more thing that's easily accessable - try out the editor/modding yourself once. While it's not the best tool I've seen, it can easily help set up funny challenge maps like a TUG OF WAR between allied biters and hostile ones or any stuff really.
I want to do something with editor/modding, but I simply don't have enough time for it :/

I've guven my bluprints proper names.. first comes a shorthand for what is produced, then a shorthand for the ratio it is based on, then a shorthand for the main buildings used for it, then a combined shorthand for the space it'll use up and the building-to-size-ratio and then another shorthand for the orientation / output-setup.
Long names, but there's everything i would possibly need to know. The description is then telling me how to use the inputs/outputs, how much it'll cost, how many space is empty and there's also an index showing me the space-loss for M2 to M32 versions.
