Question for you, not sure if you have an answer, but my friends USDM LX with a Y7 was swapped to an imported D16Y4. They say the Y4 has no vtec, but the top little cylindrical piece is there. Its in the same spot as our EX's, do you know if that part is only used for a vtec solenoid? Or do non vtec Y4, Y7 ect still have it but for another reason? I didnt look undeneath it to see if it looked the same as our y8s, but it does have the little cylinder.
1. What kind of spray is he using to clean debris off the grooves to seat the gaskets? 2. Do you buy the Honda gaskets and O rings (pick up from dealership) or are there specific manufacturers whose replacement parts are just as good? Thanks.
1. Brake cleaner 2. You can buy/order them from the dealership or just order it online. I highly recommend genuine oem Honda parts when it comes to little things like seals, gaskets, o rings, ect. I have links and Honda part numbers in the description.
Didn't really help much especially for the engine being stock and plumbed from the valve cover. Would benefit more if it was plumbed from the block. Then again I'm not experiencing much if any blowby, if I was turboed then I would like to vent the increased crankcase pressure from the valve cover and block.
Oh nothing ever accumulated in the can? I plumbed from back of block on my na d series before with a 10an fitting in place of the black breather box and can fills up way too fast. I leave the box in place and it works good. I don't think the lil breather filter on the valve cover is a good idea because that system is meant to push or pull air depending on rpm
@@aziangarage I only saw the top one and the one that sits against the head, on mine. 98 ex d16y8. I had a third gasket that appeared to be the same size/shape as the top one, but it had a metal mesh filter in the circle part, and did not seem to fit the top.
Changed all these seals on my d16y8 today. Made the exact same pop when I opened the top of my vtec solenoid 👌

PS i rarely go full retard, usually about 40-60%. I am always going full ADHD, its a fucking bit- oh fuck why do i have a leftover bolt? 😂😂😂
That is strange. It's possible that I has a Vtec head on a non vtec block.

I want to do catch can how u have it but are you mostly stock engine
Yes I am just bolt ons at the moment. I have actually removed the catch can setup and went back to a breather.
@@aziangarage any particular reason why

What kinda rims are those
They are Spoon SW388 replicas. I don't know exactly what brand these are they came with car when I bought it, I'm gonna assume Rota Slipstreams.
Why did autozone give me 3 gaskets for my '98 vtec solenoid?? Anyone?
It should have only been 2, I have part numbers for them in the video description.
