I sang in the choir at boarding school where we got introduced to this wonderfully inspirational music. Children's education should include this music. I am so grateful I was introduced to the classics.. Thank you for giving me the same enjoyment as I experienced back in my school days...New Zealand 2022.

How beautifull! I love Händel, he makes me happy. 30 years ago i worked in a little bakery/restaurant on weekends. We often played Händel's Watermusic and the view out of the window went to a beautifull very old house and roof. This atmosphere made it easy to work on weekends.

Don't give up my friend. A lot of things stink now but bad times don't last forever. Get help if you feel you could benefit from, get enough sleep but get out of the house too, keep to a schedule to organize your time, and remember that people really do care about you. You do matter!

Händel is one of my favorite composers, organ, Royal music for this or that, but especially i love his operas. If i feel down, i put on one of his operas and i am immediately cheered!

Our Director of music frequently Played Handels Organ Concertos, especially No 2. As a result I Brought all of Handels 16 Organ Concertos on Vinyl. The late Karl Richter is the Organanist

There’s a certain resonance, found in these old European organs, that doesn’t seem to be, in more modern instruments.
Also, playng in an old church, seems to add to the warmth of Baroque music.

That is the very definition of what it means to make music. And, to be musical, is to interpret by your own creation how you are led to make music. It is so much more vast than simply notes on the page. BACH, in point of fact for that very reason does not tell you how. He wrote it and leaves that to the director. The director is Always right! Thats called being united as a choir. If the director didnt do it and you did, you are wrong for not watching, being glued to a score is personal rehearsal. When you are performing you did that before and music goes in the choir folder because you memorized the notes

The andante of No 1 reminds me of going to Church as a kid. I went to a very strick reformed church were everything beautiful was banned as sinfull. Only sometimes I was lucky and the organ played this andante... So uplifting. I think the organ player usualy got a reprimand when he did this.
@Sweden Borg yes, a Dutch variant of presbetyrianism. Very strikt. As a kid you could immediately recognise a profane melody, like the fresh air in a damp room.

I grew up very similar in the zwarte sokken kerk..funny thing is, the old music never leaves...as I can see with you that you're still attracted to classical music. The older I get the more I appreciate it...although I still like modern music as well :D
I am 74 and grew up in a very strict Reformed church. I deeply miss singing Psalms.
It is very sad how certain ( orthodox ) religions succeed in discouraging people to have pleasure in their life, indoctrinate them in a political way by cunning propaganda, and even send them to unjust "holy " wars....but luckily music like this is impossible to destroy or misuse.

Ennek a képnek a segítségével még jobban megértettem az emberi kapcsolatok furcsa kuszaságát és pénzközpontúságát.
