    Thanks for these tutorials, I was wondering is there an industry wide best practice for turning off the autopilot? e.g. at what flight level should the autopilot be turned off or is it simply up to the individual pilot?
    Thanks again!

    • @Flyer0245
      @Flyer0245  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the late reply, I was on the road for a few days.
      There is no industry wide standard when it comes to AP usage. For some aircraft there is a minimum certified altitude. Some airlines have it in their SOP to make full use of the AP all the time but remain fussy as to when to disconnect it for landing. There were a few landing accidents in the past that put some of the blame on the pilot for disconnecting the AP just a few seconds before touching down. The reasoning is that you need a bit of time to become familiar with the current weather conditions and a few seconds will not do.
      Most pilots that I know will, most of the time, disconnect the AP after the aircraft is fully configured and the landing checklist is read. This will be around 1500 feet above the runway elevation and I would personally say that this is the latest time to disconnect the AP on a straight in ILS approach.
      Normally I like to fly the aircraft manually after passing FL100/10.000 or so but it depends on airspace structure, traffic flow and daily fitness levels.

It works if i use the clickable spot on the Yoke, but the joystick buttons i assign do nothing. I am using Elevator Trim Up (Nose Up) and Elevator Trim Down (Nose Down). I have tried multiple buttons, both on my joystick and on my keyboard, nothing makes any difference. I am completely lost.

      A good place to ask for support would be the Aerosoft website. You can use their forum to ask for help or you can submit a support ticket with them. From your description of the problem I am afraid I am unable to help. The only thing I can think of is to double check that you do not have double bindings for the elevator trim on multiple controllers. Make sure to have just one binding on one controller. Good luck and let me know if you find a solution, thanks.

    I noticed a tendency for the nose to remain high for quite a while after main gear WOW. Do you put the nose down with elevator or trim down? I always seem to have trim high on landing.

    • @Flyer0245
      @Flyer0245  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use the yoke to give it some nose down input. But the current FM is not very realistic at the moment due to missing ground lift spoilers that were not in the Asobo code. This will change in the near future and we will get a better behaviour.

    • @Flyer0245
      @Flyer0245  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There is a lingering glideslope bug when it comes to the CRJ and MSFS. You are probably doing nothing wrong, it is just a problem with the coding and apparently it is not easy to fix by both parties involved. Best thing to do is take over manually when you see it doing something stupid or fly lateral in LOC mode and vertically in VS and aim for around -700 feet per minute when fully configured and on the GS. Maybe one day we will see a fix but do not hold your breath for it.
