After absolutely loving Surviving Mars, I was so excited to play something similar with a post apocalypse coat of paint but it just doesn't feel even halfway as polished as Surviving Mars. Frostpunk has similar vibes and feels like much more of a realized game.
Its Paradox Interactive, they will sell the game at a steep price with less than 30% of game content in the “base game”. And will sell you DLC for the next 5 years. At which point there will be more DLC content than in the base game.
I give this game a C. It doesn’t feel fully realized yet. I like a lot of things about it, but something is still missing. And the music, while good, doesn’t quite feel dire enough given the situation the game lives in. I’m definitely not suggesting to not play STA, but you may wanna wait for a few updates.
I'd love to hear a quick explanation of the reason for that from your point of view, if you wouldn't mind. I don't know anything about either of these games, but they definitely interest me.
Half baked imo. I can see a good footprint of a game, but it needs love. Just had a settler wandering out and getting ambushed by multiple sand worms. They died. So another settler went out to pick up what they died for… they died. So another settler went out to pick up what they died for… they died… About 10 colonists later, I had enough specialists back to the colony to go take out the sand worms, but I was unable to stop the conga line into suicide until then. Problems also tend to be super low effort. Asteroids and winter etc seem rather easy, even on max difficulty. Raids are not threatening. Just too many mediocre implementations and shallow options to be worth the money. Maybe in another year, but right now it’s just not good enough.
I had to stop the review when he started talking about cheesing happiness levels, I want a review, not a system to exploit the game before I've even bought it. Everything up until that point felt fair though. Just honest feedback.
If you actually kept watching the review you would have noticed he didn't actually tell you how to do it, just spent literally a few seconds saying that the option was there. The fact that the game's happiness mechanic isn't really that much of an issue is a legitimate part of reviewing the game.
I'm sorry but even at TH-cam's 1080p setting on my enormous monitor, the video quality of the actual game itself is absolutely atrocious. I can't make out anything other than the 2D UI elements. What kind of potato peeling machine or solar-powered calculator was this played on?
Im guessing its much better on pc. The ui on ps4 is horrendous and laggy, i still play it way too much tho, thru another 30$ at it to play at work on switch
Gamers have got so spoilt now. Complain about everything. Its a game. You play it for fun. It seems every gamer is "serious" and act like the comic book guy from the simpsons. "Worst game ever, everyone knows that a shot to neck will result in Hemoptysis dispayed in atleast 135fps"
I saw some whiner on the Steam page reviewing it as bad for being 'too slow,' 'too easy,' and 'worse than a phone app' lol. Like, dude, it's not supposed to be fast paced. And if it's not hectic and hard enough for you, change the settings when you start up. I played this in per-release when it was free on Epic, and now that it's out I'll wait for a sale and get it on Steam. Epic doesn't get my money but they're great for free games so you can demo them, and while I enjoy it, I'm poor, and sales are the best. Also your tutorial criticism is unfounded; the tutorial is fine.
finished on 100% difficulity and whiner was right game is rly easy -all catastrophies(also making them more frequent on seting difficulity wont work) manageable without any casualties(hardest is pandemic and magnetic wave) others pretty easy, bandits only atacks front doors so puting extra guard towers in back of a gate and you can forget about it, game lacking variety of challenges

Hey man, I'm about to get it for $8. Do you think its worth the money?
Loved Surviving Mars, looking forward to buying this one.

Yep!
yeah i’m wait a year lol

Great game with a good atmosphere, definitely worth it if you like strategy, it does get very addictive
A comparison to Surviving Mars and an explanation for why one is rated more positively by Steam players is absolutely necessary for this review...

It would be great if the video showed things that the audio was describing
I like how the word "review" blend in with the title card

@@dubiousspacehamster3833 Still, didn't wanna risk it.
Just incredibly stupid feedback is what I think you meant lol.

This vs endzone though?
Great review
The music at the beginning is reminiscent to The Last of Us.
I bough the game like a month ago when it was still in early access but i wanted to wait until the full release^^
Haha, I bought the game more than a year ago and have also been waiting for the full release

it's Paradox game,,
i rather wait 30+ DLC to play it
I just bought it on pc. Had no idea it was available on Playstation 🤦♀️
Why would you want to play a game like this on Playstation?
@@OfficialNWS people like playing on their couch lol
An hour to build the gate, wtf? I know I have played a lot, but jeez, 20 minutes max on that.
Is there a game like this for the switch but is set in prehistoric times?
Dawn of Man
Funny to see someone play with camera so much. Usually I'm just like "why won't this zoom out more?!"

its ok but being a settlement person in fallout 4 has more gameplay than this
Does it have micro transactions for more resources? Seems like that type of game. I hope not.
Greeeeeaaaaaaaat another SURVIOR GAME THATS ONE PLAYER....what I've Nevvvvvverrrrr experienced on a forward future platform.
Is this multiplayer, and is this the closest I'm going to get to C&C
piece of crap, just a big bullshit game! 2 stars at best
Game sucks. Pass.
Sloppy controls
Horrible user interface
Lame ass mechanics
Come on paradox! You're better than this!

Looks like trash
So did your mother but I still gave her a chance … I mean look at ya!
