Shout HW a nectar = thanks/super thanks buttons above.
I went to school up there on Obsevatory Hill. Our lunhtimes were spent on the Hill ' Grew up with all the terrace houses. Have loved everything old ever since'. Know the area really well.
Wow you must have some great memories of the place. Thanks for watching. 🙏
Nice to see many places in the video
Thanks for watching 🙏
Nice one 😀👍👍👍
Thanks for watching. 🙏
video again fella, no nectar this time though..
Yeh was planning to have a nectar in Clovelly and film that. But ran out of time.
Hi HW,
Thank you for sharing your day in Sydney.
There wasn't many people about on your video, must have been a quiet day.
Weather here in Yorkshire on the cool and cold side, but should brighten up later.
Are there many tourists in Sydney in the autumn and winter?
🙏🌤️🌧️
Hi Carol. I deliberately avoided the masses on George and York by walking down Kent Street. Kent Street more for the cars. But you will still see people darting between Kent Street and the various entrances to the rail station. The smart tourists come to Oz in Autumn and Spring. So yes.
Thanks HW....another great video. I knew Kent Street pretty well but not so much the Millers Point end of it. I love the old sandstone walls and buildings.....a lot of History there.
By the way I appreciated your previous video starting from Kingsford. I lived in that area for many years.
Yeh it’s a good one the old Kent street. Thanks for watching. 🙏
Done already New friend here
Thanks 🙏
Hey HW....Nothing better than an autumn day after a hot summer! We are starting to heat up into the 90s F! What? Asbestos wood chips? What a mess for the city to clean up. How asbestos gets you is if it's aerosolized into a dust and you breath in the fibers, it can increase your risk for lung cancer. (Mesothelioma), Just touching it will not hurt you. Thanks for another great walk! Enjoy the color weather!
You’re up with the larks again. What time do you have your first cup of coffee? Yeh I’m enjoying the cooler weather, that’s for sure. Yeh plenty of parks and schools around Sydney infected with the same garden mulch containing asbestos. Massive job and making the parks look ugly. Do you have much asbestos building material present in the states?
@@hwtours Up at 7 am today...getting ready for our yearly kick off to summer BBQ party! Hey, you're invited too! LOL. No, they banned asbestosis in building materials here in 1989. Before that it was commonly used as siding for homes and pipe insulation. Clean up here is a big expense but if it's on your home you can just cover it with new siding and not remove it. The idea is not to disturb it and get the fibers into the air. So better to just cover it up! Have a great rest of your weekend! Time to make sure our grill still works. Cheers!
@@hwtours ps..just read an interesting article on Sydney's asbestosis mulch. Apparently, it's a mystery on how it was mixed into the mulch! You could do an entire story about it and show us all the sites undergoing clean up! HW....... Investigative reporter! LOL
@@TravelwithNJSteveandSue Haha that could be a vid for sure. But I’d rather investigate the next nectar joint instead. Enjoy your cook out.
Hi HW weather similar across the ditch with puffa jackets though I’m still wearing shorts. You did well to miss the nectar during the walk. Looking forward to the footy this arvo, Wayne and the boys are in town. Cheers mate stay warm. P
Yeh we went straight from summer to winter. Hasn’t been many Autumn days at all. Lots of colds and flus doing the rounds as a result. I picked the bunnies to win last night. Good to finally have a win. Wahs/dolphins should be a spectacle. As for the nectar. I was gonna pick one up in Clovelly and film it. But ran out of time. Sorry.
You were trying to remember Nando's. I saw a mention that the building on the corner of Kent and Irskine will be redeveloped as a hotel. And the buildings either side (including the women's kickboxing) are slated to go. There is a DA lodged for a concept hotel development on that site. They seem to be asking for a height increase from their original proposal, so I don't know if or when demolition and construction will start. So that probably explains the somewhat forlorn character of that area - waiting for redevelopment.
Yeh Nando’s. I was gonna put that in the text, but forgot. Ahh so all those empty joints are gonna go and make way for another hotel hey. Another hotel lol. Thanks for letting us know. Thanks for watching as always. 🙏
Nice vid bringing back a few memories. Kent Street was where we stayed while we were in Sydney. The Meriton Suites at the bottom opposite the Sanctuary Hotel. Not bad and fairly well priced.
Excellent. Did it look any different to when you last trod the footpath?
@@hwtours I don't think Kent St has changed that much; though a few businesses have come and gone no doubt. We pretty much did this exact walk after doing the bridge climb in a storm then walking back down Kent Street getting absolutely drenched. Good job our apartment had a washing machine and tumble dryer.
@@vinbar35 haha fun times
I thought you would be on the Bureau website..The BOM ! Unless thats thier app !
Nah. I only review the BOM site for the radar. For summer storms and cool changes.
Hi, HW. Nice voice and Good condition. Ya, you are back.
14:27 which str it is?
It’s all Kent Street.
