If I was looking for a budget machine now I don’t think I could look past this machine. I had the simplex and it was a dinger for finding iron, I couldn’t get it to discriminate well. I hope this machine is better?? HH from Ireland!
minelabs are pretty good at discriminating iron out and some people like to have a background hum from the threshold level as you pass the coil over iron the threshold hum will go quiet you will still get the occasional broken signal and you soon learn not to dig them, if im suspicious of a signal I press the all metal button and if it's iron it gives a grunt, all metal button looks like a horseshoe on the control box. Hope this helps should you consider this as a 2nd machine
@@pomzmetaldetecting1618 I should’ve mentioned I now have the nox 900 and quickly learned what you just said there. I do run in all metal a lot of the time so I can hear the iron. I also had to increase the volume of the iron tones from the factory settings so I can be sure. It’s been a game changer, I’m loving it. My other machine is a Garrett 400i which is mighty for coins and relics that don’t have iron. But it always told me about the iron which in turn would mask anything good that was next to it. Still learning the nox but so far I love it! HH

Hello, I have heard that replacing the 12 inch stock coil with an equinox 11 inch coil is better. Any thoughts on this would be most grateful, many thanks.
Tbh I haven’t swapped the coil over yet with any just stuck with the stock coil. Do I think it will be any better? Hmm it depends what aspect your trying to improve, if your after more depth then it’s a bigger coil you want. If your trying to get in between the rubbish or iron you want a 6” coil if your trying to combat some of the slightly jumpy numbers Iv found only slightly until you zero in on your target, the Nox coil will be an improvement but only marginally in my view I don’t think it would be that much of an improvement to warrant buying one. That said I haven’t tried it. My plan is to put a 6” coil on permanently for a quick change over from one machine to the next. for the price lee its a no brainer, performance is yet to be proven and the fact i can use all the nox coils👍
