Impressive machine, very reasonably priced too, & I like the idea equinox coils 600 - 800 are compatible, along with the coiltek,, very handy ,,Thanks for sharing Graeme 👍
Just received mine yesterday. Very easy to put together. Seems lighter and better balanced, than the Equinox, with the adjustable handle. So far I love everything about it.
Great video. I just bought one. The manual states that whenever the frequency is changed it must be noise cancelled ran again. I did not do this either and it may have caused the target ID to give different numbers. The learning curve for this metal detector is not that great but it does take a bit of practice. I have had an equinox 600 before so that helped. Thanks again great TH-cam video.
I just bought one of these machines because I had to send my EQ 800 in for repairs. I find that the coil detects very, very deep, but no matter what setting I use, the target ID is not stable at all. Also, the bottle caps sound better at times than coins do. I suppose its a good backup detector for the money, but only a backup, not the main detector.
Liking the way u run over the target at different khz, different objects resonate at varying wavelengths usually with one prominent one and several others either side, that make those numbers jump when you tune it out. A bit like when the target is out on range as then the terrain or any other nearby target is coming into tune as well as the target itself. On that note these sidebands when listening to iron are usually numerous and sometimes with the iron switched off there is a kind of rasping sound caused by the gaps in the spectrum
i have the nox 800 but looking for this one has a back up detector or that will be the right choice for my 15 years old daughter to join me , shame its out of stock everywhere
Is this a "disposable detector" since the batteries are built in and according to Minelab customer service there is no replacement battery packs offered to anyone. If you have a battery issue AFTER the warrenty expires, which will definitely happen to all rechargable batteries, what option do you have other than throw it away?
@@unearthed-detecting-tvThere's no battery pack available for the x-Terra Pro. I got a answer to my email today from Minelab stating the battery pack is not available to anyone, even dealers. Wish it wasn't so, cause I was ready to get one. I do agree, it would be easy to change if there was one. 2 screws and your there.
Hello ! How does the X-Terra compares to the new Simplex machines ? I already have a Quest Q30 which is amazing , but I want a new detector because I like the hobby and I want to make comparisons I would go for a Vanquish 440 , X-Terra or Simplex BT , what would be your advice ? I only detect in forests and fields . Thanks !
Hey man, whats this machine like depth and reliability wise compared to lets say a Nokta legend if u got experience with one already? Like the video mate👍
Like it Graeme, be interesting to see what it's like compared to me old favourite the Teknetics T2, also like the build quality with the box section stem think they made a mistake with the 900 making it round tube shape where the weight of the coil turns the stem round and puts it out of line, good price too think the T2 was about £700 back in the day, still a good machine but not built as good as the X terra by the looks of it. Look forward to your review on the Nox 900.👍😉
Sorry my mistake, just when you mentioned you were using the 900 I thought you might be doing an update on the previous review, have you tried the X-Terra Pro response to coke? that's the one drawback I have with the T2.
It’s gonna upset the apple cart for sure , and not just those similar priced machines this I think is gonna punch a bit higher , The build quality and spec is amazing for £299 even that screw that holds the arm cup is machined unlike a machine I could name that costs over three times the price it’s gonna be popular for sure 👌
gonna have to save up again now 😂. looks a great budget detector mate. I've heard that the nox 600/800 headphones won't work with it. it will pair with the new 700/900 headphones. is this true?
Thank you so much for a very interesting video and good to know that the coils are compatible will the minelab wireless headphones also be compatible to?it's really compact to very similar to my Vanquish 540 just wish mine lab had made the Vanquish control box water proof. So once again thank you for sharing your video much appreciated 👍👍
@@unearthed-detecting-tvthe last question and sorry for bothering you: Is it preferred at searching for gold nuggets and treasures cause I’m about to buy one but not sure what to choose?

Very impressive, Graeme. The price and look of it is amazing, gosh, I paid more than that for a machine over 20yrs ago. Thanks for showing us. Jax
