He’s is very much a car nut. How cool would it be if his characters each had a custom car befitting their unique personalities. Expensive yes but it is why Jeff makes the big bucks 😅
This movie was directed by my uncle (he married my mother’s sister) he had such a cool house. They are now divorced and I haven’t seen him in decades. He was a bit of unusual guy but he talked about making this movie a lot the couple times I got to meet him. It really meant a lot to him.
This is a secret weapon I use when talking about AZ movies. Revenge of the Nerds, Bill & Ted, and Raising Arizona are some of the bigger ones. Campus Man, Just one of the Guys are two smaller movies. All great flicks filmed in AZ.
There is a good video with Jeff and Jay Leno on Jay Leno's Garage channel. It has been nicely restored and seems to be having phone app & bluetooth operated doors and stuff added. Looks pretty nice work that they did to it.
Sheen's basic acting is what makes his character in this movie. His don't give af attitude let's you know he is all about taking care of the gang and getting his girl back as his time was limited. He wasn't rude, just all business. Made sure to take care of his brother at the end. The jake/ Jamie scene was peek emotional
@@ghostman5620 I bet you really have had to use that word MANY times in your lifetime . Thanks once again "grammar police"... :) (Thank God I got that handled ... )
This is definitely one of my favorite movies. As a kid growing up I was always into anything with fast cars and women. This is yet another classic that fueled my love of cars and trucks. Great video Minty! 😃👍
I saw this in the theater with my brother on the night before Thanksgiving in 1986. There were maybe 10 people in the theater. As we walked out afterwards I couldn't help but think of all the people that were missing out. Pure 80s goodness.
Great film. I always thought it felt like it SHOULD have been made in Australia, during the "Ozsploitation" era alongside Dead End Drive-In, Stone, Turkey Shoot etc.
I'll have to check it out bud. It's always cool to find obscure films (to me at least). Australia always seem to have the goods whether its movies, music or cars. Someone else suggested Running on empty is a kick ass car flick as well.
Definitely an underrated movie. I watched it many times in the 80's when I was in high school, and I watched it again not too long ago and still really love it. 100% 80's action movie at its best!
Outstanding video as always, sir. I first saw The Wraith on Rifftrax, I think, or MST3K(same thing, basically). Then I went ahead and watched it on it's own, and it is a fun movie. They did a lot with the budget they had.
I noticed it was Amazon Prime last week so I jumped on it. Really glad I did because it looked so much better to what I remember on VHS. Well worth a watch on Prime Video. 😁👌👍
I have seen this film many times and had it on DVD but have to get it again since last copy was lost. I never get tired of this film as it has a great cast and awesome car. I live in Arizona myself and not too far from where the movie was filmed. I still give this big thumbs up and it's a great cheesy and entertaining movie.
Apparently the comedian Jeff Dunham owns the car now. He brought it onto an episode of Jay Leno's Garage recently. Oh, and Sherilyn Fenn was hot as fk!
Like the idea, but really, it's much more that the crow is the wraith for goths. (As a rather goth gearhead, both are really high on my list. In truth, all 3.) Besides, robocop completely sidesteps the back from the actual dead theme.
I've seen the film a thousand times. I remember running around the garden with my dad's motorbike helmet on my head. Good memories. I still listen to the soundtrack from time to time.
What Timing🤩I was honestly Just Thinking about "The Wraith"🤔Wishing that it could get More Online Recognition!🙏 I'd always thought it was odd that Charlie Sheen seemed to be in Half or Less-Than-Half of the whole Movie, but I'd never knew / nor would ever have guessed that He'd Filmed ALL of His Scenes in 1 Day!😅Thanks Minty...👍
I recommend "The Experts". I don't remember it now but back in the day I loved that movie. It's where John Travolta and Kelly Preston met. That much I know. Great to see so much Wraith content A
Love this movie!! Used to watch a bunch as a kid and still enjoy it today! Always thought the car was awesome and the idea of coming back for justice was easy to get in to.
"A Aparição", so many times broadcast by SBT (a "popularesque" channel here in Brazil), in late 80s. When that channel wanted to turn kid's Sunday badtime into endless nightmares, they would also programme The Burning, The Ambulance, The Fog, Christine, The Stuff, Escape form N.Y., or Children of the Corn and so on. Superb times!
This movie had it all. A fantastic cast. A great soundtrack, An unforgettable score, And an interesting story. It deserves so much more love than it gets. One other fun fact for you guys.... Martin sheen, Charlie's dad, starred in a a movie called the california kid. There are some interesting plot parallels between the two movie. Both movies are about getting revenge for a brother's sus demise. Both movies involved badass cars. Both movies also involve a lot of driving and racing. Watching one after the other definitely helps drive home that there is some sort of relationship between these movies.
A couple of years ago there was a Turbo Interceptor in the Celebrity Car Museum in Branson Missouri, USA. Not sure if it is a replica or one of the non movie used cars. If you ever visit Missouri you should check out the museum there in Branson. they have a lot of movie cars, replicas and memorabilia. There are some other YT videos about the museum. The Wraith has always been a fun movie and I forgot how little Sheen appeared in the film. It really just has that 80's feel and the cars were cool for the time.
I love the independent films of the 80’s. Movies like (The Wraith) (Night of the Comet) and (Buckaroo Banzai). And the list goes on. Fills the viewer with nostalgia and occasionally amazement every time you watch them.
Only watched it recently for the 1st time. And I was amazed to see how good the movie still looks. Also having Cousin Eddy attempting to be a Hopper like sherriff was the icing on the cake.
Packard was such a great villain. As a kid he looks and acted exactly like a small time crime boss should. That anniversary Corvette still haunts my dreams. I've tried to make every muscle I owned looks like a bad guy's car.
There were a petition to get the M4S Interceptor Turbo to get it in Forza Horizon 5. Over 150.000 people jumped on it, but still not added to the game.
This is one of my favorite movies. One aspect that never gets mentioned, and I would love an explanation of, is why Skank and Gutterboy were the only ones where there were no bodies. All the others had their eyes missing, looking clean as a newborn as they dragged them out of the burning wreckage. Skank and Gutterboy were just vaporized into nothingness.
I worked at a movie theater when this came out and I saw a few times when it released. I always loved the cheesiness and action. Gutter Boy and Skank were awesome. O wanted a Dodge Turbo Shelby Z so bad.
The Wraith was one of my favorite films growing up. I've been hooked on this movie since I first watched it on HBO as a kid. When it came to DVD, I didn't just buy it once, I bought it TWICE: One copy was the initial $10 independent release on DVD, and the other was the official Lionsgate DVD release. And the soundtrack is epic. "Secret Loser" by Ozzy Osborne might be my favorite Ozzy track because of this movie. And you're not the only one who noticed parallels between The Wraith and The Crow. A lot of my friends say that The Wraith is The Crow meets The Fast and The Furious, which is funny because it predates BOTH of those movies.
Hey Minty, thx for doing another awesome review on this cult classic form the 80s. I remembered that the film was called Interceptor over here in Germany, but you made a tiny mistake when you said phantom of entity because the German box cover says: he returns - a phantom from eternity. Might just have been just a small mishap from you. Anyway, keep up with the awesome reviews and infos about these cult classics. You rock!
I agree with Minty. The Wraith is a fun 80s popcorn movie. In funny that Rughead in the movie calls Jake a wraith or a ghost, but you can't physically touch a ghost. He was more like a immortal reincarnated being in the form of young man, an avenger.
I love this movie,I've also got a copy on VHS with the shiny cover, but it's in the loft somewhere. You mentioned that you had a 80s movie night, I also have a 80s night on a Saturday, but with tv series, Start with the A team, then knight rider, followed by the Fall Guy.
One of the best 80s movies I had the pleasure of watching.
This is one of my Brother-in-law's favorite movies... along with _The Last Dragon_
(He had a huge crush on Vanity back in the day!)
Sherilyn Fenn had one hell of a body!
She was SO Hot. Still one of my favorites of all-time.
She was at her peak in this film
Mint back then...
In Boxing Helena, too.
She's the reason why I saw the movie. She's impossibly gorgeous and sexy AF.
You're too cool Minty!
One of the best 80' B-flicks ever.
I agree
Last I heard Jeff Dunham, the puppet guy owns the car now.
He does; it’s on an episode of Jay Leno‘s Garage show
He’s is very much a car nut. How cool would it be if his characters each had a custom car befitting their unique personalities. Expensive yes but it is why Jeff makes the big bucks 😅
yup, was about to post the same thing.
It's a replica tribute version of the Dodge that Jeff Dunham has,, but I'd still own one if I could
@@ScotlandSoldieryoutube algorithms are crazy. I just watched that episode on youtube yesterday.
The Wraith is one of my favorite movies. It gave me the (original) Repo Man vibes.

I probably seen this flick a couple dozen times...Not sure why? but id watch it again.
I'd watch it again and again (as well as Can't Buy Me Love) as I lived in Tucson for 30 years and know many of the places they were filmed. 😁
Guilty pleasure most definitely. I've always pondered if this film would benefit for a remake. Possibly a limited series with the right budget.
They shot it in Tucson, and it was quite a big deal to see our hometown on the big screen!
Hello from Reid Park area 😅
It sure was, and anytime I show this film, I like discussing where it was filmed. Greetings from the Pantano area lol.
I guess Casa Grande wasn't good enough. 😢 Lol
This is a secret weapon I use when talking about AZ movies. Revenge of the Nerds, Bill & Ted, and Raising Arizona are some of the bigger ones. Campus Man, Just one of the Guys are two smaller movies. All great flicks filmed in AZ.
oh wait! I just remembered that the movie The Three Kings with George Clooney was filmed around Casa Grande! Clooney used to play pool at a local bar.
07:55 The Wraith car is owned by ventriloquist-comedian Jeff Dunham who had it restored
There is a good video with Jeff and Jay Leno on Jay Leno's Garage channel. It has been nicely restored and seems to be having phone app & bluetooth operated doors and stuff added. Looks pretty nice work that they did to it.

Damn Minty, I’m sure we have the same exact taste in movies, always covering the bangers🙌🏽
"You lose the race, you lose your car !!!!!!" :) Great movie that I really remember watching when it originally came out...
"Lose"

I met Clint Howard at a Con in Texas and we mostly discussed this movie.
I always liked this movie, great car chases 👏 Minty I was watching another great 80’s classic you haven’t done yet, Tango and Cash mate, 80’s Gold 👍😂
Loved this movie. Still watch it at least once a year.
This is one of my childhood favorite movies
Me too
I love this movie. Thank you for this.
This is definitely one of my favorite movies. As a kid growing up I was always into anything with fast cars and women. This is yet another classic that fueled my love of cars and trucks. Great video Minty! 😃👍
In case Minty hasn't mentioned yet...Chris Nash portrayed a character named "Minty" in the movie.
I could and sometimes would watch this movie over and over.. Love This Movie!
Love this movie. Thanks for bringing back some good memories, Minty. I should watch this again soon.
One of my favorite movies as a kid. 👍🏽
I forced my homies to watch this one day. They pretended to hate it but were glued to their seats. They rally race now.
😎👍
"Who is that guy?!"
"I dunno but he looks pissed off and weird!"
I laugh at that part everytime 😂
I saw this in the theater with my brother on the night before Thanksgiving in 1986. There were maybe 10 people in the theater. As we walked out afterwards I couldn't help but think of all the people that were missing out. Pure 80s goodness.
It was pretty easy to get 80s goodness in the 80s. The 80s was kinda the nexus of 80s goodness really.
Thanks for doing another The Wraith video Minty! This is a great '80's movie!
Tom Cruise knows where Shelly Miscavige is.
Yeah he does. She’s at the bottom of the ocean.
Oh my god! NOBODY talks about this amazing movie! Thank you!
❤❤
One of my most awesome DVD finds ever!
Watched this one on VHS as a kid and it totally got me. A true classic!!❤
Great film. I always thought it felt like it SHOULD have been made in Australia, during the "Ozsploitation" era alongside Dead End Drive-In, Stone, Turkey Shoot etc.
Stone is a killer movie. Being a mid 40s American and motorcycle guy. I had never heard of it until a year or so ago. I bought it. Lol

A lot later down the line but I also liked 'The Clean Machine' with the Goose himself starring in it. Great Aussie film!
