    So when is the van getting some Type S Pro series LED for it? Image towing the skyline with the van, an they both are on the same pattern. Keep up the videos sir.

      That would make for a pretty baller hauler… 🤔
      I still have to fix the dang van. I found a place that can check some of the modules so I think that’s the next step.
      And thanks! I appreciate you always checking them out. ☺️

    I fitted some years ago and work with remote control. Now the new ones are app control and have more rainbow settings. I’m thinking fit the new ones around the sides and the old ones around the wheel arch

    Very informative, considering this kit myself for my 2020 Kia forte

    I apologize if this is a stupid question, but why is there a need for multiple smart hubs? Is it simply so that certain strips are lit a certain way? I don't care about the 3rd brake light and I always want each strip to be lit the same. Is it possible to run front, rear, and both sides of the car off 1 smart hub? Or is there just not enough connections for all of those and thats why multiple smart hubs are needed? Thank you for your response and the detailed install videos. Only thing I don't understand is the need for multiple smart hubs. Sorry if I missed that explanation in the video if it was there. Thank you.

      I’m not sure why the kit is engineered that way, but it might have to do with the amount of power needed for each strip since they’re double wide and brighter than most leds. Because they’re ic (individually controlled) leds they probably need a bit more power and control for addressable points also. The ends of the strips are weather sealed from the factory also, so you can’t really add another strip to the ends of the strips that are sealed.

    Do you have to turn it on and off with the App or if you apply power does it just go back to previous setting?

      Hi there! I just got my PSL (Sides Only) Kit installed and love em! Answering your question what we opted to do was get a custom switch and wired the smart hub to that so I’m confident when I turn on and off the power to them. But yes you would turn them on or off through the app. I did read if you forget to turn them off, they have an automatic turn off feature when the hub senses a drop of voltage to about 12v therefore protecting your battery from dieing. Hope this helps!

    I know this comment is 2 years late but can the 3rd brake light change color to? Always had to get a weird set to be long enough if this does it would save me so much money and time managing wires

    I have the old kit on my Subaru. How much better is this kit? Really debating on switching them for these. Especially since on the first kit you can see the led lights on the sides. Would you recommend switching the original kit for these?

    • @garydeandeery

      Only thing Iv found is the old set is like a loop lead goes into the next one and so on. The new one has 4 cables coming out of the box so not as easy to loop round

    How did you get the lights to connect to your phone?
    Mine won’t seem to hook up with the app.

    i currently got the dormula d interior and same underglow kit u have, rn the problem is that they interfere with each other and I can only communicate with 4 lights at a time. do I need one "master" smart hub to control them properly?

  • @jorgegomez913

    hey do you know how i can keep them on while the car is turned off and while on the road cause mine is staying on for 5 min then turns off

  • @christiangonzalez5930
    @christiangonzalez5930 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Isn’t this hard wired though? I wired up exactly the same and mine come on as soon as I connected power and ground w/o key in ignition. Do yours not work with ignition or is there a way to turn them “off”

    • @RobRabonPhotog
      @RobRabonPhotog  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. Going directly to the battery means the modules stay powered all the time, but they can be turned off with the app, and there is also a low voltage cutoff.
      You could wire it to only be on with the ignition on, by taking the power wire to a circuit that only comes on when the ignition is on. You can usually find a circuit in the car’s fuse box that you can tap off of for that type of install.

    Yours stay on while your car on. How do they?? I routed the wires to the battery the same way you did but it shuts off after a couple of seconds

      @@ggmateeakin6244 Honestly bro I got rid of my kit from Type-s and made a switch to OneUpLighting. I am actually sponsored by them. the kit is on the pricier side being almost $200 however it is very good quality, stupidly easy to use, and never shuts off or the wires ever are faulty. the 3m tape is ridiculously strong and I have had the kit on my car for a year and never had a single problem. It is grounded from the battery and yet does not draw too much power and does not drain the battery. Best of luck!!
