  • Looking to build your houseplant collection without spending a fortune? This video is packed with tips and tricks on how to find the best deals on houseplants, whether you're shopping at big retailers or from local sellers. One of the best places to get started is Trader Joe’s, where plants are always priced reasonably, and they often come with decorative pots that are perfect for your space. If you shop at Costco, you know they have plants at different times of the year, and their seasonal deals are a fantastic way to score larger plants at a great price.
Estate sales are another hidden gem! You can find beautiful, mature plants that often come in decorative pots, making it a two-for-one deal. I’ll also share tips on checking the garden centers at Walmart, Home Depot, and Lowe’s. These stores frequently have sales on their seasonal stock, and you can find some great discounts if you keep an eye out. Always look for clearance sections for marked-down plants that just need a little TLC.
Don’t overlook Facebook Marketplace either-people are always selling plants they no longer have space for, often at bargain prices. Your local nursery can also be a great resource for finding healthy plants at reasonable prices, especially if they have seasonal sales. Learn how to shop smart and grow your collection without breaking the bank!

That large monstera from Trader Joe’s is great. I love checking out their little vases and plants.

Check your local college. Some have green houses, or nursery for botany and horticulture students.

I have a Bird of Paradise, Croton, snake plant, ZZ, pothos, and three others (resting in peace) for free because of a friend that works at an apartment complex. Another place you may find free plants would be Craigslist. I have a dracenea that I got off that sight.
