    I agree. Keep making these videos. They have been so helpful to me being recently paralyzed. You are much more strong and agile than I but these videos give me great encouragement. Thanks

    You have no idea how much your videos have helped my fiance & I! He recently had a sci, he is a T-9 from a gunshot wound that happened December of 2016. We just got home a week ago from rehab & we are still figuring everything out! We are currently looking to build a machine with pedals & a motor so he can excersize his legs & reduce how tense his legs can get. Thank you so much for everything! Greetings from Cincinnati!! 💕💕💕💕

    You are THE man, and you are getting through to and helping so many of us. I absolutely love what you do for our community and I thank you sincerely. You and I share a very similar heart and you inspire me to want to help and inspire others in such ways. Me being a T-11 para for just over 3 years now I'm now at the faze that I'm learning that it's all the little things that we cope with on a day to day basis that matter the most and you, kind sir help me to realize that even more so. God bless you and keep up the amazing work! Thank you,
    Greg

    Thank you so much for making these videos. My sons legs dont work but hes very strong and smart so we are learning how to get him to take care of bathroom care and wheelchair tricks. It's nice to house your videos as a guide to use with my 5yo.

    Great design and emphasis on safety! I have used clearing soft plastic tubing (aquarium type, clear) over similar brackets to protect skin. Also glued foam-type anti-slip rug mats (go between floor and rug) on places in tub where I need a more secure grip. They get nasty and have to be replaced about every three months, but that's cheap and easy to do. I use PVC contact cement, which comes off porcelain tub readily but sticks to mat. My feet not sticking in place is the hardest part for me, because all the balance is in my arms then. Kudos to you for working out these solutions, and then sharing them with us!

    Excited to see another video. I wish my legs were that free to move about. I've been thinking of creating a video of my bathroom routine to help others. Keep inspiring us!

    I think you're pretty awesome and I find these videos really interesting. I don't have a connection to anyone paralyzed, per se, but I learn a lot about how folks in wheel chairs go about their daily routines. Gives me an appreciation and I find it very inspiring.

    Nice setup, I know you don't really need it but transferring out with the tub full of water makes it so much easier getting up. Only way I could get out of my old spa tub

    Love your videos! Thank goodness I'm not confined to a wheelchair yet, but I do feel many of your struggles. Use a shower bench in the shower which has to straddle the side of the tub. Also have 1 grab bar near toilet to help with balance and 2 bars attached to toilet so I get leverage to stand. Leg muscles & nerves are pretty useless for me already😢 Haven't driven my car since 2013, drove with equipment for the state a couple weeks ago and they are giving me a restricted license.

    I'm sorry this is off the topic, but I've watched several of your videos mainly to educate myself, because I have a girlfriend who is in a chair, and I believe her injury resulted in paralysis similar to yours (chest level down). I'm buying her couch (this is actually leading somewhere - ha!), which is practically NEW, because she hasn't been able to enjoy her couch, because once she gets on there, it's too low for her to transfer herself back off and into her chair. So, lucky for me, I get an almost new leather couch at a great price, but we're trying to figure up what she might use in its place. She just wants to be able to sit or lay on her couch, share some popcorn with her dog, enjoy a movie, whatever. I thought about some sort of risers, but those don't seem stable enough to me (like the kind you would put under bed legs). Then I thought about some sort of a platform, but all the platforms I've seen (such as for a twin bed) seem like they've got a ridge around them or something that the mattress fits down into. I thought about a daybed (too high?) or one of those "chaise loungers" that has one long side completely open (too low?) So, I don't know, I just thought I would run it by you to see if you had any ideas.
    Your videos are so helpful. I think the very first one I ever watched was when you got your new house, because we were thinking about a new house for my friend at the same time, and we got lots of good ideas from you. (She now has a new house, too, which is just perfect for her.)
    Thanks a million, Annette

    • @ParalyzedLiving
      @ParalyzedLiving  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! Someone could make one for you easily. My kitchen is "accessible" but not extremely. I don't do a lot of cooking since my wife typically handles most of that. That said, I don't spend a ton of time in the kitchen but will make a vid of how I have things set up.

    Hi, Brian. I need your help. I had an accident 2 years ago and ended up parallelized from the waist down. I was a very active person, but now don't leave to from home, because of my potty issue. I haven't figured out how to use the toilet to poop without my over the toilet chair. I was hoping you could show me a technique on how to using it, with your pants on of course. It would be much appreciated. Thanks

    how long could you stay in the tub without any negative effects pressure sores, strength loss, etc. when i have warm showers it seems like my arms loose strength so would getting out be a problem for me?

    • @ParalyzedLiving
      @ParalyzedLiving  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't stay in the tub more than 30 minutes because the heat is an issue for me. I typically get light headed if I'm in there too long. Same goes for hot tubs. You have to be careful because your body no longer regulates heat the same post-injury.
