      It's consistent problem of government bail-outs. If government tax as little as possible and doesn't spend money, then, government can't "save the rich" - it wouldn't have money to do so.
      Then, "the rich" would only be able to get money from people. Would you give them your money? I guess not.

Just look at China and some other asian countries and how they handled it. And now they are thriving while America and Europe are dying and dealing with severe economic problems at the same time.

      @@uppitywhiteman6797 Ah I think we crossed wires, then. Because I do agree that there's intrinsic irony in the original piece as you just expounded on, for sure. I previously took your first comment as declaring there was irony in my original comment, specifically in my appreciation of the fact that a major corporation was at least platforming critical rhetoric -- and that's what I disagreed with, because I can dig that they're doing it (and recognize that many major corps wouldn't, regardless of it still serving their interests either way) and validly unironically be glad about it (since whether I think something is Overall A Good Thing is entirely subjective and thus solely my factual jurisdiction), while still recognizing the other ironies in the context.
      So yeah, I appreciate you clarifying (despite the totally unnecessary snide condescension and the accusation of virtue signaling which was a pretty specious and arbitrary stretch lol) ... since I think I just misinterpreted the specific nature of your original statement. @Michael Freed I'm not sure how to answer this comment. Did you think that someone who's going to pretend something was making a serious comment? It was mainly a joke but it does reveal my left leaning political views if you'd like to criticize that.

    • @PaulTheSkeptic
      @PaulTheSkeptic 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Michael Freed Well, there's two things I'd like to say to that. The first is that I speak my mind quite a bit. And I do make serious comments often. But they being longer get less people reading them. This comment is far from a good example but I've had a few get thousands of thumbs. That's why I tend to think about how I might make a point in a funny and succinct way.
      Also,... this is going to sound bad. You're probably not going to like this. I'm not sure America is worth saving anymore. It's gotten so bad lately. The reality denial. I understand the importance of tipping the needle but I don't see any progress in the next few decades. In a hundred years? 2 hundred? Who knows? But right now, trying to reason with people is like trying to dig out the grand canyon with a spoon. They're misinformed but it's more than that. It's like their religion. I'm very apprehensive about the future and if I had the means, I'd move to Canada.

    How could anyone with a heart hear this and remain unconvinced of the need for serious change. As Jon Stewart asked, "Why is it that if you take advantage of a tax break and you’re a corporation, you’re a smart businessman, but if you take advantage of something you need to not be hungry, you’re a moocher?" The generation that has made some protestant work ethic more important than common sense and decency will soon be dead, thank God. Wake up, young people. The time for change is now.
