I'm still a novice at home reef aquariums, but if there is one thing I would tell everyone looking to get into this hobby is that for whatever size aquarium you are thinking of getting, you need twice the amount of space you think you need.
I have a 93g corner bow front, I bought as a complete 10 year old system, I also don’t have a quarantine tank, I’d like one but I don’t really have the space for it at the moment, last fish in was a copperband butterflyfish that I ordered from NY aquatics, they offer Live arrival guarantee and then an additional 14 day guarantee on most fish, the specimen they sent me pleasantly surprise me, it was large and it eats, and it’s an aptaisia finding master, I added a toadstool leather with one on it and it found it and ate it immediately . I love that fish so much, it’s not shy either.
I've had every light out there, except the Orpheks. Was going to pick one up a couple of months ago and read some reviews about LEDs going out, etc. I think it's the best looking Fixture outside of the ATI Straton. Tank looks amazing.

Wish you would have went more into detail about the Achilles how you went about the care of that fish, when u go it because there is not a lot of information out there on keeping them or introducing them to in aquarium

Thanh, you’re video and photo equipment is pretty dang nice!! I’m into photography and videography too. Done the whole dslr since 2005, and just barely getting into mirrorless and more videos lately. I like your gear, and your video production is top notch!
Tank looking incredible, my question is what is your experience caribsea shapes rock, because I just rid off my one after 8 months battle with high po4 and Ca plus lots of algea problems which I never had before in my previous tanks? Thx
why wouldn't you qt when you transferred the tank over?? Just playing with fire. All it takes is a water oopsies, aggression or equipment to malfunction and now you have a massive ich outbreak that wipes out your fish
I've had 6 orphek or3 blue plus fail on me within a year and a half, I definitely do not recommend that product. Seeing that you also had problems just continues to confirm that they take too many shortcuts when building their product whilst still not offering a competitive price. On the other hand I have AIs both primes and hydras running seamlessly for over 6 years.
I am aghast that you both are ok with having to fix your lights yourself! These lights are way to expensive to let a company say here are some parts go ahead and take it apart and fix. Granted I use AI and they are a bigger company with more money and more products but that just seems wrong. On the forums I see people having to do this a lot and everyone is ok with it??? If it was eco tech saying that or kessel you would have some hate floating around. Everyone seems ok with Orphek making there customers do there bitch work. I don’t get it. If the tank does go belly up while on VK at least Than made a gorgeous Discovery Channel worthy video. Have a great trip! You are lucky you have friends like Than and others to watch your back.
Bigger companies have a huge advantage when it comes to customer service. Even on the livestock end of things, we do stuff now to protect our customers that we could never do when we first started, or even the first 10 years business. We've done things to make customers whole that would probably put a one man coral selling shop out of business instantly. Now if you are a big company and still not taking care of it, I'm less understanding.
He needs to remove all those fish and let the tank be fish less for 3 months. That ich isn’t going to go away with hosts (fish) in the DT. Say goodbye to those tangs at least. Dead fish swimming. I would never put fish in that big of a tank without first doing a tank transfer method and then QT them for observation. If you didn’t QT the fish did you at least should use Safety Stop product before dumping fish into the DT.

I'm with you on the stratons. I'm getting a blanket of stratons plus supplement from kessils for shimmer.

how long did it take to cycle this tank. I have a 180 gl and it's been 3 months and it still has not finished cycling.

Biggest I’ll ever go is 180. Maybe 220 tops, I saw the new wb 320 tank. The 7ft one, too big for my liking sorta
