All I can say is wow! I thought my tank was a dream but wow. This tank is massive, packed with huge SPS colonies and even the equipment he is using is spot on for running such a large system. It looks like every detail of this build was so well thought out it is crazy. My only complaint about his setup is his couch is not pointed in the right direction. 😂😂 Than you should do more of these tank field trips. I love seeing how people create these unforgettable home systems and the behind the scenes that keeps them healthy and thriving!!
Best of class aquarium. Stunning and perfect. And on a side note, I think the stone facing on the walls is beautiful. Love the 'hidden panels'. Thank you so much for sharing!
Joey Merrell I feel like when you’re tank gets that size and you can afford that much equipment, you probly don’t do many water changes. My 72 gallon is 3.5 years old and I only have to do 4-6 changes a year on it
I like that manifold design. Variable, practical and expandable; might have to thing about one of those... on a nano setup!! The ideas you can get from looking at larger systems is priceless, imho.
Absolutely crazy !! Just wow it's an amazing tank, great job filming ! FYI I had a blue throat trigger in my 180 sps with several shrimp as well as snails and crabs and never had a problem with the fish snacking on them !
Sola tubes!! 💥 SURGE TANK!!!! #ineedthat What a spectacular setup, thank you for going backstage to show us the infrastructure! And if the secret device is what I think it is, I want one so badly.....but it has to go through regulatory stuff to be made available in Canada, so here’s hoping....🤞🏻that it’s available next year when I start the 300 build....🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 Awesome tour, thank you for this! 👍🏻👍🏻
That was a magnificent video, the way you speak alone is very soothing and calm and makes it very relaxing to see these videos I thank you for sharing this. Definitely reminds me back in my crazier days of reefing where I'd want the biggest tank I can get, as large as I went though was 6 feet by 5 feet, never went longer than 6 feet although my current tank originally was suppose to hit the 8 foot barrier I balked at the build price I was quoted (apparently there was a quite a shortage of glass at the time, making it more expensive than it ordinarily was), either way I settled with a tiny 200 gallon tank and I think my pocket book thanks me for that. But I will say seeing tanks like this I do get the itch again for large... luckily I'm fairly content where I'm at.
After being in the hobby for 30 years im sure ryan has figured out that the go big or go home approach will cause less problems and heartache. The only items used that cost many times more than standard equipment were the abyzz pumps and the sheer number of radion lights. You could trim back on those two items and this system would be doable for anyone that has some knowledge on how to build up a system. A lot of people will spend 30-35k on a car they like but will that car regrow a mirror after you snap it off and resell it?
you can drive your aquarium to work? I love reef tanks and have a few myself but if you live in a small town you need a car. You don't need an aquarium
Not even close to 7 figures. Figure the tank was 30k, sump 10k, lights 15k, pumps 10k, calcium reactor 2k, protein skimmer 5k, install and plumping 12k, electrical and HVAC 15k, odds and ends 15k. So about $120,000 would be my guess. Not counting the stone thing. I have no idea for that.
Wowza! I'm totally stealing this as my dream tank for when I win the lottery. I would deff have more fish and algae just because but it's beautiful. The wave boxes in the skimmer box is actually an idea that I have been toying with. I had never seen it before but was an idea as I am drawing up notes like wants and needs for my tank when I can finally jump in with both feet. It obviously functions but I was considering the different pumps for it. I wondered if I could mount a nero type pump and the skimmer box would have been made with sections like this. I was also trying to figure out a surge device above and that ball valve is now noted for later. Sweet tank build for sure. I was and am considering something that feeds often or constant for different animals and I would like to have the food dispersed by the surge device. My tank would be along the 300 400 gallon range but would love something not quite as big as this but the whole fish room is great.
Awesome, I bought a motorized ball valve to make a surge tank just like this. I ended up scrapping the idea, because I had too small of a sump, and I could not figure out how you get around all the sump level fluctuations.
Thanks a lot for bringing this amazing piece of art! Small feedback please indicate the measurements also in the metric system for the rest of the world, would be great to keep watching instead searching the actual measurement conversions.
Yo Than, Love the tank tours! Probably my favorite vid series from you. This tank is no different! A suggestion that maybe I only feel needs to happen, is maybe some tank tours of smaller sps tanks, like 100g or less! I'm sure a large majority of your viewers are on smaller tanks than these amazing ones you show! Just a suggestion obviously, otherwise love your channel.
Did this tank make it through the crazy weather that froze Texas a few weeks ago? Hope so. I’ve watched this video many times and hoped he had backup power to sustain the statewide outages. Beautiful tank! Crazy huge colonies
Other than the haphazard attention to detail in the fish room it’s a well thought out system. I wonder how much syphon capacity that sump has during a power outage. Those return heads are quite low into that aquarium and look like they are going to suck 5” or more of water during a power outage.
Great video. Beautiful tank. The one thing I took away was besides the scale the setup was very basic aside from the wavemaker and surge tank. These things arent really practical in most tanks. The rest was just what you see on most tanks just bigger. This just proves to me execution is more important than equipment. With that being said the secret monitor probably really helps the execution part. It will probably cost the same as a small used car but one can dream.
So what’s the device that monitors all the numbers, ghl addition? Ghl always has very high end equipment, even commercial stuff. 10-15 years ago, only a few of us were using profilux. P2, then p3. I still have the p3.1Tex ultimate, which has the same touch screen that’s still being used on the p4. It is still perfect, no need for a p4, unless the new monitor device works for only p4, then I’m gonna get one! I also still have 5 Mitras 6200. From my research, only thing p4 has is built in WiFi, but mines always had WiFi with a $30 gaming WiFi unit. I’m surprised he didn’t go with the Mitras 7200 actually, which imo is a superior light to the radions. Not crazy better, but slightly better when comparing side by side with the radion.
#goals
That is one awesome setup!
any info on the secret product Ryan was testing
I can't imagine having such an amazing aquarium and pointing the couch in the opposite direction.
that is so advanced and over the top i dont think i would enjoy it . at that point you are at the top of the hobby and there is nothing more to do
Very beautiful and organized. Spared no expense.
Yeah same here. WOW! That catwalk is genius! Looking forward to the rest of the video.
It is pretty much necessary given the height of the tank. 32" tall is so deep to work in.
holy moly that's a pimp set up. thanks for filming Than.
Beautiful tank!!

This is so relaxing! Eventhough i cant afford this im happy that someone else fulfilled my dreams..thanks for sharing this wonderful video..
Great system!!! Love that the large colonies look small in that monster tank
Awesome videos
Beautiful
I think I appreciate his aquarium even more as you said he’s been in the hobby since the 90’s.
This is a video worthy of my public endorsement! Thanks, Than!
Best of class aquarium. Stunning and perfect. And on a side note, I think the stone facing on the walls is beautiful. Love the 'hidden panels'. Thank you so much for sharing!
Holy sweet mother of Jesus, I can’t even imagine how beautiful that looks in person, you are so lucky Than!!!!!!!
Nice video and lovely looking reef :)
Mercy, his 10% water change is the size of my whole tank.....but it is awesome

@@adamnorvell if you mean 72 and not 720 then you are doing WAY too less water changes.
@@valtteri1683 not if you carbon dose, the reason most people do water changes is to keep nitrates down. Carbon dosing keeps it down.
Borders on a (private) public aquarium. This is on like, another level. Thanks for the tank tour, Than.
It is better than a lot of reef displays I've seen in public aquariums!
Super Awesome
Stunning
I like that manifold design. Variable, practical and expandable; might have to thing about one of those... on a nano setup!! The ideas you can get from looking at larger systems is priceless, imho.
Nice tank! Who ever Ryan is he must have a unlimited supply of money lol
daniel starsiak lmao 😂 for real!!!!!!!
True
@@just4fun6671 that explains it
So.. Ryan Reeves, if the same person.. is Ryback from wwe. I'd imagine he use to have a bit of $$
Love this tank AND your video coverage. Great job, man!!
Much appreciated!
Thats one awesome system ! Cant imagine how much better it is in person 👍👍👍
Hai so beautiful aquarium... 😘😘😘
Absolutely crazy !! Just wow it's an amazing tank, great job filming ! FYI I had a blue throat trigger in my 180 sps with several shrimp as well as snails and crabs and never had a problem with the fish snacking on them !
Amazing setup and always your videos are beyond great!
Ryan is a great friend of mine. Glad to see you cover his system
Ryan was very nice to reach out to me and invite me to film his tank.

Next level tank for sure! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks Than for the review!
It’s amazing to see the tank at this Stage and see how much it has grown.
This is spectacular - congrats on a great accomplishment! 👍🏻👍🏻
Amazing! thanks for this
Gorgeous tank
Love to see more exotic fish in there
Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful reef tank!!
Love the stone work and tank.
stunning!
Love these tank tours! Your videos are always chocked full of detail and of the highest quality. Keep up the great work!

Fair analogy, but most people finance that cost. Little harder to finance a reef 🤣

WOW goals
Amazing!
Love the tank tour series! Keep it up!
Nice!
Stunning 😭
That Big Sailfin Tang looks awesome!
Amazing Tank, full time job running that beast
Love it Looks amazing. I love my new glass tank . 120"x36"30"H
Loved it
Absolute perfection! Love this tank
Awesome love the technique showcases!!
Thanks Dorian, glad you enjoyed!
I thought my tank was big till I saw his, very cool.
man i hope you recorded that surge system in action! awesome tank... cant even imagine its total value.. must be close to 6 figures!
I'd say close to 7 figures

COOL TANK 👊😎
Awesome video, as always
Hey that’s my friends Ryan! I was wondering who this tank belonged to. Very nice. Maybe that’s the same black tang I sold him a while back.
Amazing video need more like that 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
are you Fin kidding me!!! omg NICE
I really like tuxedo urchins. I had a little mini rubber ducky in my tank and my urchin would pick it up and wear it as a hat and it was adorable.

This is easily on the top 5 best reef aquarium builds in the world.
It is certainly one of the nicest I've seen.
Ryan has a very nice show stopping aquarium 👀👍👍😎🍻
Can we now talk about the secret product mentioned at 16:28?
Probably the Mindstream. The company that made them already went under.
Love the vid❤️
Wow. O.O wow. :)
I love it! 🤩🤩🤩
dream tank
Magnifique, BRAVO !!! 👍👏👏👏
This tank is a true monster on so many levels 👍

Hello! Congratulations on the aquarium! I would like to know some information.
Do you feed the coral? With what? How often?
Thanks!
I like that the design isn't overcrowded like many reef tanks. I wish we could see price tags next to some of these things though.

Been watching your channel for an age, and only just seen I wasn't subscribed 🙈.
Now rectified lol
Welcome back!
A beauty
Looks like Ryan is doing well haha
Wow
amazing tank! i really wonder what product your testing. well see in a while.. cheers!
Wowww how does he keep his bubble tip anemone bubbled like that its sooooo cool
Than is the Attenborough of reef tanks 👌🏽👍🏽
WOW
Sounds old school like I remember my dads old 55 from either the 70s or 80s -glass stainless steel rims
Other than the haphazard attention to detail in the fish room it’s a well thought out system. I wonder how much syphon capacity that sump has during a power outage. Those return heads are quite low into that aquarium and look like they are going to suck 5” or more of water during a power outage.
Need to do an update video on his system soon
Should revisit his tank bro!
I think I need that monitor/doser too.
Anyone know what kind of sailfin tang that is? It’s absolutely gorgeous with the red highlights I’m dying to know
Please do more tank tours.
I would love to know when that automatic testing unit he is testing, will be coming out and what it is. That would be a game changer.
Great video. Beautiful tank. The one thing I took away was besides the scale the setup was very basic aside from the wavemaker and surge tank. These things arent really practical in most tanks. Old school hard core basic husbandry works really well.
Beautiful, unfortunately unrealistic to realize. How much energy do you use per month for this miracle?
omg.... who ryan is??😂😂 this is stunning
I’m speechless 😶🔥❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ thank you for sharing this content with us sir!! You never disappoint us fans 🤙👌🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
