I won't hide. I cried when I watched this movie and my eyes got wet watching this scene again now. Miyazaki surely is a Art/Animation Genius, but he's much more. He's a man of valor and true sensibility... He knows the world can be really strange and life can be hard sometimes. But he keeps smiling... he feels inspired and keeps inspiring everyone with his movies and words. He just keep believing... Even when it's hard to doing so. Someone I wish I could talk at least once... I can relate to him very much. Excuse my English...
When I rode a train in my childhood, I always imagined a horse running outside my window trying to catch up with me, sometimes leaping over obstacles. His mind still works like a child..
I'm so glad someone posted this clip. This is one of my favorite moments from the documentary. He's almost exactly like how I hoped he would be in person.
anewusername Same, it brought me to tears actually. Because it was so surprisingly profound and beautiful. I hope he keeps making artwork, whether its film or manga.
+Deadstar: The Animated Series He's a real animator, he actually creates the movies himself. Many directors just produce it, or over see it. MIyazaki actually draws all the story boards, writes it, designs all the characters, and yes animates some of the best scenes in his movies himself.
I've never been interested to any person in this world as much as I do but when it comes to Hayao Miyazaki. I thought he resembles my vision of the world that I would love to have. Following his life's story, I keep pondering about all those words he said. Every little thing he does, and every little gesture he made, I think he is living a life that is worthwhile. No one can tell a person as great as him can be found in the art of animation. No one does. There are many things in this world that a person can do. But animation is an art that requires an immense talent. A work of art has to be kept pure all throughout. And no one has ever done as beautiful as Miyazaki san. Not all people found a purpose while living. He is a lucky man. He bested it all. If I would get a next life, I ask my God to entwine my next life right there with Miyazaki san.
his imagination is awesome, its amazing how an old man like him could have so much lively imagination of a kid. the one and only interesting old man in the world. I envy his grandchildren so much I guess they get to hear awesome storytelling by himT.T
When guys hit on me, I ask them a simple question. Do you know Hayao Miyazaki ? They usually say no, and when they do, I block them. No one needs that kind of negativity in their life.

Same here, this type of pure emotion is so rare or ridiculed.

I love how he just observes people, human nature, and puts that into his films. He and the magnificent studio is LEGENDARY.
Miyazaki, the parkour sensei.

Mine too! I was not expecting it in the documentary, and was totally blown away by the beauty of the sequence.

Katsuhiro Otomo was better. Miyazaki is too emo for me.
He has one of the greatest minds in the world in my opinion...

His son actually said he gets "zero marks as a father". Unfortunately, working so much does that.
Best scene from an amazing documentary

I once saw a black cat running in the fields as we were driving. I'll always remember that.
I like his laugh at the end looks like a kid and his friend laughing.
beautiful, everything that's good about animation and filmaking in just a few seconds...
He is back
" maybe you can " this line hits different
When I'm his age, it would be a gift to still have even a fraction of his creativity
The geezer probably cooked up that bit for a while during the recording of the doc til he found the perfect chance to say it. I love him so much.

Those clips are soooo annoying. How about letting one try to imagine that based on the actual sight.
