Very cool, probably one of the few interviews where Miyazaki is actually engaged and enthusiastic! One thing in the English translation at 11:45 - it would be more accurate to say “I think he has a good look in his eyes” rather than “he has beautiful eyes”. Miyazaki was more so praising Julien’s outlook/attitude rather than how his eyes literally look
I love Miyazaki I want to meet him too. He is a beautiful melancholy soul and his films are so beautiful and truthful. You are lucky!

You should never say never but I admit that I had an exceptional chance to meet him. It was a clever mix of chance, will, fate and also audacity.

😀Thanks. About the metamorphosis, I think he meant that it reveals the truth of our deepest anxieties or desires.
@@julienmariestudio88 Yes, especially from the cartoons "Howl's Moving Castle" and "Spirited Away", I got a little acquainted with my fears 🤪🤪🤪 But I also see that he has a lot of metaphors about social issues. This is interesting. In the cartoon "Spirited Away" there is a metaphor for how humanity pollutes the planet 🥲🥲🥲
C'est une très belle interview et un grand privilège de la part de Monsieur Miyazaki qui en accorde rarement. Un moment poétique.
Effectivement, comme il le dit lui-même, il n'aime pas trop ces fans et il ne s'explique pas pourquoi c'est différent avec moi. J'ai certainement une approche différente de ses films. Nous avons discuté 2 ou 3 heures !

C'est incroyable de voir que Ponyo (plus grenouille que poisson) et son père étaient déjà présents dans son esprit et dans ses dessins en 2005 ! Très joli moment avec le grand maître du dessin et de l'imaginaire.
😀Hé oui, c'est l'âme d'un artiste avec toujours de très nombreux dessins, croquis et projets dans les tiroirs !
