What i find amazing about this kind of operating on an aircraft carrier is that knowbody knows beforehand who they're dealing with, you work on a jet piloted by someone you don't actually know. On top of a ship you don't really know who's driving. Depending on people who you've only seen on there on deck making sure everything happens safely. And it all runs smoothly and everyone is safe and well. Literally a couple thousand people thrown on a ship coming from all around and doing their own thing making sure someone else can do theirs. Amazing.
Crazy I just stumbled on this. I was a Hull Tech in the US Navy from 92'-97'. Went to the Stennis when she was still pre-comm in Newport News. Worked all over that ship. Trials were a trip. Good memories. Look forward to the day she's decommissioned so I can get my "Plank".
great to see the "Aces" again. I was a Black Ace Aviation Ordnanceman from 73 to 76. We flew Phantoms in those days off the now scrapped F.D.R. CVA42. Good memories.
You know, I've watched a lot of your videos Alex and was always impressed. I'm glad you documented your career. Because it was cool, not everyone gets to do it. The thing is now that you, and I are out, we're doing different things and people don't know what we did back then. But it makes us even cooler now.
I am in unisonal support with promoting Naval Aviation, telling its story and what a typical day is like on the deck. I hope what you are presenting us in compliance with the Navy’s social media policy. I also hope that you aren’t breaching classified and confidential data out there.

Absolutely astonishing the amount of respect these pilots have for the mechanics.. the trust they have is like letting your girl out for a night out knowing she’s the one for you and dosent actually find any other man attractive other than you. Amazing people, thank you
first off, that is basic, if you can't trust your girl to go out alone and not cheat on you, there is something really wrong with your relationship. Second, she WILL find other men attractive, and it is perfectly fine lol... there are more attractive men than you out there, trust me... it doesn't mean she needs to cheat on you because someone else is more attractive. Your girl is not with you only because you are attractive you know

Cat shots, the best reward given to pilots for all their hard work in training. I'm a commerical pilot so I get jealous. Shoulda served in the Navy I say all the time. Cat shots, well maybe the second greatest reward, second only to a 3-wire trap.

It’s called accountability. These people do their jobs like someone else’s life depends on it and it is in most cases.
You do know the crew who arms your plane and maintain it, and after a 6 month deployment every sailor and marine on it.
