    Great advices, especially about the job descriptions. I'm a Web Dev for about 2 years and just got in to the biggest e-commerce platform in my country as a front-end dev. The job description was insane, It had everything in it :D Actually let me copy paste it:
    Required Skills
    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience,
    Minimum 5 years of experience in JavaScript development, Strong knowledge of React, Vue.js, Redux, Vuex, Webpack, Typescript, HTML5, RESTful API, SASS/LESS, JavaScript (Jquery, AJAX, OOP, MVVM),
    Eager about micro frontend architecture,
    A good knowledge of NodeJS,
    A good knowledge of consistent user experience,
    Working experience with Git,
    Passionate about testing and clean code,
    Great team player,
    Completion of military service or minimum 1 years of postponed, Located in xxxx.
    But I currently modifying and creating static landing pages now, and most of the time I just modifiy very minor stuff on html, such as sorting banners and changing, adding new ones. Long story short, just apply to the jobs you want, and just throw yourself to the interviews, thing will work out, if you are confident and know what you know. Also if you wanna freelance, learn Wordpress, as a backbone, get divi to create your own themes or import premades, then learn server-side redis, browser caching, gzip and image compression, then you are good to go. You can still go static for landing pages and lil sites ofc.

    It's 2022. I have been in this field (front-end development) for well over 10+ years. It wasn't originally my profession and I don't have much interest in it outside of work. I get burnt out very easily during work....
    I may need to toss in the towel soon. This is my honest truth. I don't know why I am willing to confess here.

    7:51 so true! Nothing like reading job descriptions to make you feel grossly inadequate, even for entry level positions.

    • @TheCodingOdyssey
      @TheCodingOdyssey 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      very true, but talking to recruiters approaching me on linkedn it was admitted to me many times that those job descriptions are basically a shopping list and most of them don't really expect people to know everything, but they do expect you to have the ability to learn quickly

    • @jackepner9984
      @jackepner9984 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I was talking to some people who are pro devs, and they all told me to basically ignore anything under the "Requirements" section. They advised me to take it as a wish list. Of course if it says you need five years of Vue, and nothing else, if you've never touched Vue, you might skip that one.

    • @dimitmoto1716
      @dimitmoto1716 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LearnWebCode For the purpose of this course, I can't think other topics that should be covered.
      Maybe as extras could be a video in relational databases (because the are widely used, but on the other hand on many fullstack development bootcamps they cover only mongodb), and another topic could be state managment with context hook or redux.
      Another idea could be to create a video series based in the bootcamp, where you create a bigger fullstack app (ecommerce, airbnb clone etc) , from the design ( wireframing, chosing colors etc) to deployment to free servers, like netlify or Heroku). In this way we can see how we can use the knowlege of the bootcamp in a real life scenario.
      But in generall this bootcamp in my opinion is one of the best bootcamps and it worthed every minute I spent on it.
      Thank you again!

    Brad, thank you for this video. It is very encouraging. I finished your WordPress developer course a while back on Udemy which is an excellent video. I had to take a break from development for a while and when I came back to that course I saw you added Webpack as your automation tool of choice which is great! However I have looked in many places to find a solid course on understanding webpack and incorporating it into my future WordPress projects but i can't find any good ones. I enjoy your teaching style so maybe you can do a course where you discuss how to setup a Custom Theme WordPress project using webpack and really breakdown the configuration of it in detail. That would be an awesome video!

    The best teacher I’ve learnt from and I’ve been round the block a few times. So many on TH-cam and Udemy etc call themselves teachers when really all they are doing is showing themselves working. No background, no context, no why. Brilliant work mate and thanks.

    This is great advice. Pick something and master it. You learn more this way.
    I recently got a job. It's LAMP stack (their own custom PHP framework) with Smarty, Bootstrap, and jQuery. Getting comfortable with Git is essential. As well as Git basics, make sure you know how to merge and rebase too.
    Having a good github portfolio with challenging projects helped me land the job.

    • @jackepner9984
      @jackepner9984 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @this.channel
      @this.channel 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jackepner9984 I would say the biggest was an internal tool for organisers and volunteers of a regional branch of the RedCross. I landed that project after sending an email to the head organiser offering my services. Other notable projects came from my own passions, like language learning.

      @jackepner9984 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@this.channel Offering services for free? A lot of people mention cold emailing organizations, and I even come from a sales background, but it just seems like a stretch when you don't know who may need work, and little professional experience in the field.

    Hi Brad.
    First of all, I just want to thank you with all of my hearts and soul. I was always passionate about learning web development and becoming a full stack web developer. It was like my one and only dream for life. But I was struggling a lot because I couldn't find a mentor Whom I can understand and love watching their lessons. Until one day I found you in Udemy. I started your Git a Web Developer course and now Working on the JavScript Course, and I just can't express my feelings how much I loved and enjoyed every single second of your course. The way you take time to teach, Make sure we Understand and all the amazing and funny examples, Just amazing. I am still on your JavaScript course just finished Follow-Unfollow part. But all I want to say is Today If I am highly motivated and Highly focused on learning web and maybe In future If I ever become a good web developer. It is all because of you. and I can never thank you enough for all the amazing courses and support you provide.
    Take Love.

    Hi brad. I want to first thank you for your great videos.
    and there is something else: there is a problem in Video #17 from Complex App: Hashing User Passwords, in there you say that there is a limit of 50 characters for bcryptjs, but its not true, there is 72 bytes limit, and the last byte should be null terminator, so there is a 71 bytes limit to it. UTF8 characters can be up to 4 bytes long, so max character limit is 17, or maybe 18.
    18 is a small number for a password, so we can increase it by first hashing the password with sha256, then hash the hashed password, this way we can increase the limit.
    sorry I couldn't comment on the video itself.
