    Dr Mungli, would the foods you recommend (greens, various colored fruits and vegetables, fish oil, olive oil, nuts and seeds) be ok to make into a paste and give modest amounts to a 2 month old baby with G6PD deficiency?

    • @lindav1189
      @lindav1189 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      TWO MONTH OLD??!! I am no doctor, but at 2 months, they should only have breast milk or formula. Once the begin solids, its one at a time to determine food allergies. I also have G6PD deficiency, class I, Mediterranean variant, most severe.

      @@lindav1189 if mother consumes foods that should be avoided then breast milk could be stopped ... i am not doctor but just saying ... my advice is to go to a good knowledgeable doctor with baby's mother so that mother can be educated and best advice can be given

    Is it true that only FAVA BEANS (AKA broad beans) contain the contraindicated chemical (vicine) that causes hemolytic anemia? Many people think ALL legumes need to be avoided.

    why female can only be the carrier not affected one to glucose 6 phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency??🤔🤔
    is there no chance of female get affected when she is a daughter of affected man and carrier female?? and if NOT explain...

    • @DrGulshanTayal
      @DrGulshanTayal 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes , you are right since it is a linked recessive trait therefore for the diseases to be in daughter , the father must be diseased and mother must be a carrier but now there is only 50 percent chances to be diseased daughter

    • @lindav1189
      @lindav1189 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A woman can be heterozygose (only one mutated x chromosome and still have severe G6PD deficiency. This is my personal situation. This is due to something called Lyonization, which is named after the Dr. Lyon. Since the body must choose one of the two X chromosomes, in cases of lyonization, the body chooses the mutated X-chromosome.

    • @lindav1189

      @@DrGulshanTayal and @GULJARI LAL as linda explained even if two disease causing variants are NOT present because of lyonization only one copy is allowed to express mimicking situation of males ... and so both copies can be disease causing and disease symptoms happen even when both are not disease causing and lyonization has happened to choose disease causing x-chromosome
