    Elliot, your voice is starting to waver between deep and high, especially at the beginning. Starting the transformation! Great questions for Lou, too. SOIA was pretty good when I saw them years ago. I was in a band with my twin brother but we never fought!

    Lou comes off as an extremely mellow and down to earth gentleman, and as usual, I enjoyed this interview. I remember seeing them live back in the early 90s and they just killed it! I'm willing to bet they still put on an amazing live show too.

    Oh man, I absolutely love the story about Sick Of It All playing Norway for the first time and having big time Black Metal bands loving it and asking for autographs, even though they were headliners, that is so sick and shows a testament to how good and heartfelt SOIA are that even legendaries from other genres are paying their respects. So awesome man!

    One of my favorite Hardcore bands of all time. I've seen them a multiple times live over the last 25 years. My favorite shows would have to be the first time I saw them when they released Scratch The Surface @ Roselands ballroom, then there was a random concert announced the day of on the radio on WSOU at CBGBs (In the pit not too far from me I saw Chaka Malik of Orange 9mm/Burn going nuts and dancing to SOIA), and in 1997 SOIA played a show at The Roxy with Ensign, AFI, and I think VOD. That show was crazy, people at times were Break Dancing in the pit and it reminded me of the movie Beat Street.....LOL!

    I'm not gonna enter the political fray. Elliott is doing a fantastic job! I like my music & politics as separate as possible. I'll quote the Great Alice Cooper, "I call it treason against rock 'n' roll because rock is the antithesis of politics. Rock should never be in bed with politics. ... When I was a kid and my parents started talking about politics, I'd run to my room and put on the Rolling Stones as loud as I could. So when I see all these rock stars up there talking politics, it makes me sick. .... If you're listening to a rock star in order to get your information on who to vote for, you're a bigger moron than they are. Why are we rock stars? Because we're morons. We sleep all day, we play music at night and very rarely do we sit around reading the Washington Journal". - Alice Cooper. KEEP up the awesome interviews Elliott! 🤘🏼

    • @nogodsnomasters666
      @nogodsnomasters666 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      If politics is your inspiration to write good music so be it. All the great political song from the 60's and 70's wouldn't exist if everybody thought the way you do.

    • @sleepbetraysme
      @sleepbetraysme 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sickie Wifebeater go ahead, put me down, you fucktard. But remember, you're putting Alice Cooper, and many other artists down too - that like their music unpoliticized. I think Joe Elliot from Def Leppard said the same thing: just Music about having a good time...no politics. If that's your bag? So be it. But thankfully there are MANY musicians to fill both desires. Eddie Vedder can suck a nut. Too political. Did that famous Show on Long Island, NY - where the fans walked out on him for getting too political. He obviously didn't learn from that & doubled-down on his soapbox. Have no time for asshats like that. They are in an echo room.

    • @nogodsnomasters666
      @nogodsnomasters666 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@sleepbetraysme How did I put you down? I basically repeated the exact thing you and Alice said and threw in a different opinion. There would be no John Lennon, Neil Young, System of the Down, Rage Against The Machine,Otep, The Clash, SOIA and a million others...

      So in other words: you're a right-wing Trump supporter and you throw a hissy fit when a musician espouses liberal views.
      You hate liberals, not politics. Just be honest.
