  • Hello and welcome back
    In the Previous episode we leave Namibia and enter Botswana.
    …for the next leg into the Chobe National Park.
    In Kasane we make a brief pitstop to resupply
    Our aim is to reach Savuti by late afternoon
    On an early game drive we spot the legendary Sekoti
    ...the reigning king of lions of the Savuti Marsh and his mate.
    We enjoy many game drives and Diane has a brush with an angry bee.
    Join us on the next leg of this exciting adventure.
    We visit Khwai and Mbudi in Ngamiland. The concentration of game has increased the further south we go.
    The Mbudi river is a life force that feeds into the Khwai river
    This trip has delivered a dream. We are overwhelmed and find our happy space.
    Almost otherworldly - so far removed from our modern existence.
    As we explore the Mbudi river
    On a makoro and glide on a silky mirror adorned with lilly pads
    We are humbled by Natures spectacle
    We spend two beautiful days on the banks of the Mbudi River.
    The camp is unfenced and wild as we like it.
    We cannot believe our luck.
    It feels good to be lost in paradise.

    The gentle gliding through the water....the dream so many never realize. Stunning. I'm sure it's an experience that you can't describe but your photography gave us a glimpse of the magic.

    I was once again transported from a cold winters day, on an unbelievable journey, a world of tranquility, reflections of light and color, movement all playing between the swaying lilies and the serenity of the river. This all after a long and bumpy road, all with its own adventures and wild life. The beauty of the Saddle Billed stork and the dancing Chameleon plus the hair raising drives following roads you can't see. SJOE, SJOE!!! AMAZING!

    Excellent video guys, looks like Botswana has it all in the wild parks. Which agency did you use to book your campsites on your trip? Oh and love the drone footage!!

    • @SoulTonicLife
      @SoulTonicLife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it is advised to use a booking agent for most of the National Parks. We reached out on the Drivebots group on Facebook and a fixer (Godwin Setswang ) helped us. It is a group with a wealth of info.

    When was it filmed in Mbudi, beautiful, thank you.

      Thank you. We camped the in April of 2022. It was a lovely alternative to the now very popular Magotho Camp (Khwai Development Trust). Mbudi can still be combined with Khwai game drives(best of both worlds). The mokoro experience was the bonus. At night there were hippos that came out the water to graze around our camp and then marauding hyenas came rummaging through. It was as wild and unspoilt. I also had the privilege of spotting the elusive pygmy owl. Ablutions were simple but adequate and the staff were great.

      BTW, we're just (husband/wife in 70) doing Maun Khwai Maun. Much obligated from USA.

      How do you feel about wildlife in the Xakanaxa area vs. Khwai river area.

    • @SoulTonicLife
      @SoulTonicLife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dilipkakkad2260 Khwai and Xakanaka are both really game rich. I presume you are renting a fully kitted out vehicle in Maun. The rental vehicles are well set up and should be easy to setup camp. Physically it will be easy mostly sitting in a vehicle on a slow bumpy ride. Hard to pick a winner…although the boat ride on the Xakanaka was exceptional. Being so close to elephants in the water. If you are in the area give yourself the time to do both. These are the last great wildernesses on our planet. At 70yo I would consider this a once in a lifetime experience. These areas are hard to get to and in relative close proximity. The roads can be rough and slow going. Starting from Maun you will regret passing Khwai to get to Xakanaka. If you need a fixer to book your sites we have all the details.
