Absolutely awesome! We will be there for my birthday next month. I can not wait. Amazing footage of the lion. I was nervous for her. Thanks for sharing.
Stunning stunning video Villiers. So enjoy them. The leopard as I've said before is my absolute favorite. And the baby too beautiful. The lioness reuniting with the pride was amazing as well. U r blessed seeing so much always.
This evening I made myself comfortable in our cozy armchair and watched your part 3 and 4 videos - thanks so much for sharing, you were so lucky with what you've spotted and you've created amazing videos out of your footage 👍🏾
Loved your video. Not only is the photography very good, but your video and info is very realistic and not sensation seeking. I am a bush lover myself and it is heart warming to experience true nature lovers on TH-cam. I even enjoyed your ads! I will definitely support them when preparing our next trip. WEL GEDAAN!!!! Well done!
Oh my goodness! Beyond incredible. The sightings, the filming, the commentary, just everything. Dankie dat ons ook hierdie kon meemaak. Voel asof ek ook daar was.
Oh what a shame, it's already over :-( . I love your videos and your respectful way of traveling. I'm still waiting for "my" swimming lion, but I totally agree: Khwai never ever disappoints. I've been there 7 times now, and there was always something great to discover. I'm looking forward to your next trip and the videos of it. Merry Christmas and a happy new year from Germany!
Such a fantastic video Villiers, interesting, informative and the sightings were incredible. Leopards are my absolute favourites and Mama with a cub even more so. Beautiful lone lioness too, her strategy in crossing the river and then reuniting with her pride made for heart warming viewing. Each and every sighting so very beautiful and a priviledge to see, thank you so much.
Brilliant series. You had the most amazing sightings and filmed them so beautifully. I would call you lucky but you can see throughout the video that it came down to skill, patience and dedication. You guys did the hard yards, and earned fabulous rewards.
Thanks Eleanor 🙏🏻☺️ We actually spoke about that at the end of our trip and came to the conclusion that our sightings were as a result of hard work as opposed to luck alone 🙂
amazing series, thank you so much for the sharing of your wonderful captured videos and as always the great information about wildlife and safari destination - you are truly my favorite youtuber :)
This series of Botswana just makes me want to wish away the first 5 months of next year!!!! How far in advance did you start making your camping reservations? Did you get the camps booked you had requested through Botswana Footprints?
Hi G Babe. I started planning the trip four months before our trip in October 2021 and yes, I made all the bookings through Botswana Footprints. I first sent them an e-mail with my ideal itinerary, and they then got back to me within a couple of days with a list of campsites that are available on the dates I wanted, and also which ones weren't. For those that weren't, they made suggestions close by. The whole process was very easy and personal and I can highly recommend their services.
Hey Villiers, brill video mate. Is there a place where you’ve published the itinerary you folks had and the route you took? Maybe with photos to go with ‘em. Will help lazy planners such as myself.
Hi Sumeet. Sorry, no, but here goes: Day 1: Pretoria to Khama Rhino Santuary Day 2: KRS to Kubu Island Day 4: Kubu Island to Nxai Pan South Camp Day 9: Nxai Pan to Khwai via Maun Day 13: Khwai to Maun Day 14: Maun to Kwa Nokeng Day 15: Kwa Nokeng to Pretoria I hope that helps
Thanks for a inspiring series! We haven’t just bought an Invader off-road camper. We plan to go to Botswana next year (not in the wet season) What’s are your thoughts on towing in Botswana?
Fantastic video thank-you for the awesome work. Do offer paid customers on your trips? I am learning film after been on stills/driver for San documentaries.
What tyre pressures did you use when not on Tarmac or compounded gravel. Particularly keen to know since a Section of our Overland will Shane Nata, Kubbu, Bains Baobabs, Sth Gate, 3rd Bridge, Xanaka, Khwai, Tshaa, Savuti and Ihaha (Chobe River add). Thnx
@@TheSafariExpert Why not? I have just started to learn about safaries and African game and as cool as it looks i was wondering why would you put your life at the mercy of a wild animal?
I'll never give Botswana a penny as long as they hand over endangered species to hunters! I won't even watch this video. Nice commercials before it starts.
I have a lot of sympathy for your stance, but one must remember that NOT going diminishes the value (aka Tourist Dollar) of each and every ‘live’ Elephant, thus making them from a purely commercial perspective expendable. The Message that needs to be rammed home is that we (big spending. tourists) are even more interested in large free-roaming Herds with a proliferation of BIG Tuskers. One such Beast can be a serious cash draw for 30+ years instead of a one Shot Wonder. My hatred of all things Hunting is enormous. Bon voyage.
Motswana here. Truly, and I speak with sober mind here. I would prefer you not come either. Batswana who benefit from tourism are not in Government Enclave in Gaborone. And as long as you malign us without atleast helping those on the ground who are fighting those policies, please stay in your country. And I hope your country is perfect, that your not fighting for wildlife while you don't care about human rights in your own country. Because clearly all Batswana who depend on tourism for their livelihood are no concern of yours or you wouldn't be trying to starve them to death.
@@jennifertebomosiane9596 The people that want you to boycott Botswana should provide salary to whoever is involved in what they are against. There is no better way to really show support of something you believe in as to provide an alternative living for those who they condemn. WOW!!! What a fantastic and superb sighting of lions and seeing that lion crossing the river and rejoining her pride. So special.
Thanks Katy ☺️
You should make a separate video just for that lioness crossing and reunion. Love it!

love it man,how far is khwai from maun
It's a 140km drive from Maun to Magotho Campsite in Khwai and the drive takes about 3 hours on a dry road.

Hi Sumeet. Sorry, no, but here goes:
Day 1: Pretoria to Khama Rhino Santuary
Day 2: KRS to Kubu Island
Day 4: Kubu Island to Nxai Pan South Camp
Day 9: Nxai Pan to Khwai via Maun
Day 13: Khwai to Maun
Day 14: Maun to Kwa Nokeng
Day 15: Kwa Nokeng to Pretoria
I hope that helps

The meals you ordered from the trail food company ... is the large packet suitable for 2 adults?
G Babe, we shared the large packets every now and again on the trip, but it wasn't enough for a proper meal for us two men.

Usually between 1.5 (thick sand) and 1.8 (not so thick)
were you not afraid of lions coming when you ate lunch by the riverside and even taking a nap?
Nope 😉
