Nice haul Pete! We had some crazy fishing on our last trip as well, where one guy caught 10 fish with 10 casts. That's great you got out with your brother. My brother and I used to trip a lot together until he got busy with his family. Hopefully in the future.
Thanks so much David! Man, when the fishing lights up, the smiles are non-stop. I've got a list of your videos to watch, you hit so many lakes and rivers that would have absolutely prime fishing! Bill and I are planning on paddling the whole French River in October, from Nipissing to Georgian Bay. Fingers crossed that we hook into some lunker pike and smallmouth. All the best to you!
@@LatitudesWildernessFilms I haven't done the whole stretch of the French in one go, but have done it from top to bottom and many routes in between. Other than some boat traffic and cottages, you'll be in for a treat. Love that area. Good luck on the fishing!
Nice! It's great to have a beautiful park like this a little closer to home (for me anyways). You did the route in November, that's so cool! I had hoped to paddle around Phillip Edward Island last November but it didn't pan out. Late season tripping is my favourite.
Just curious where your access point was and route into Sheldon lake. Was it Devils lake rd access point, and onto devils lake and a 1.4k portage from Devils to Sheldon?
@@LatitudesWildernessFilms right on! I was just reading up on queen elizabeth II wetlands, being a non operational park, I'm curious to investigate it further. I just started checking out your videos, great content, thanks for sharing your adventures and experiences!
@@todds6046 no worries! QE2 is an awesome park with lots of canoe routes, great fishing, and hiking. The southern end has access by Head Lake into Fishog, which is a beautiful lake as well but there can be boats on it, so just keep that in mind.
Looks like a great time. I just wrapped up a similar experience with my brother in-law. Donald was a beautiful lake, thanks for the tips. We definitely got some smallmouth numbers in there.
We had no problem finding an open campsite. There were no other canoeists other than us. We did see some hikers come and go but that's about it. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I respect what u are doing , but if you put your fish inside the canoe , for your own sake , do not go into grizz country , Cruz u want have a canoe left , if u r able to walk away with your life, think about that !!!!! .
It’s a beautiful lake. My Daughter and I hiked into Sheldon lake this past summer (2023). Absolutely stunning. Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome👍
72 Bass! 👍👍
13:37 wow amazing shot
Thank you! The skies were just amazing both nights of that trip. Cheers!
So happy you guys had an amazing trip!! So many fish!! My kind of fishing, one right after another!
It was a special day for sure, we made some amazing memories! I thought you'd enjoy this one especially👍

Love the QE2 Wildlands. We did Fishog to Redboat 3 years ago in November, stunning.

Yup, nailed it! The access point can get busy so a trip during the week is recommended. The portage is easy for the most part, just long. Cheers!

Hey Rob that's great to hear! Donald is such an amazing place and I can't wait to get back there. Thanks for stopping by!
I was at this very site 2 months after this
Hey right on! It's a go-to spot for us when we want to get away and relax
Did you have trouble finding an empty campsite? How busy was the park that time of year?
We had no problem finding an open campsite. There were no other canoeists other than us. We did see some hikers come and go but that's about it. Thanks for watching and commenting!
