Nice walk in. You have to be cautious at water crossing and climbing rocks when you are on your own but you did it right; slow and steady. I have never used the dehydrated meals in a bag. Too much salt. I have some great dry food recipes I use from items I get from the bulk barn. Lots of fibre and protein and really filling.
QE2 is one of our favorite places!! It is such a satisfying challenge. The trail has changed over the years. That dam will never change though 🥰 just found your channel, looking forward to watching more vids
This looks like it was a terrific time along a beautiful trail. Good video! I have just started looking at this trail and curious - where did you find a map to the trail? I am trying to get a sense of distance around the loop and I am not having much success. Also, I have only camped at parks where I have a pre-booked site or lake to stay at. What was your back-up plan, if you were unable to find an empty campsite? Were you just thinking of moving on to the next, until you found one? Or were you going to camp at an un-designated spot? I'd really like to try this one, but have no interest in camping where I shouldn't, nor do I want to find every site full along the way. Thanks for any advice.
Hey Jamie! I used All Trails I believe--I didn't plan it out too well and found it pretty hard to follow so I wouldn't necessarily recommend it. I don't do much backup planning, but I planned to move on until I found one, or went back to my Jeep to sleep if there was nothing! There was a couple that camped near me at an undesignated spot who got a ticket though, so I wouldn't recommend it. My advice: go early, or head somewhere else if you can't.

Thanks for the tips. Turns out, 3 friends are planning a mini canoe trek in here, the last week in April. So, they invited me along and we will likely be early enough in the year, that all sites being occupied, won't be an issue...cold, wet nights might be though... Looking forward to it. Thanks again for getting back to me! Enjoy the trails this summer!

You should get yourself an underquilt for your hammock Jen. You'll sleep nice and warm. I'd recommend Jacks R Better.

I use the same water filter you use. Just bought a new filter because it's getting slower. QE2 is a really nice place ;-)
What a beautiful spot - I love QEII, though, I have yet to hike the trail…someday! Enjoyed the video 🙂
