    Adoro essas cenas do cinema antigo. É muito bom pra se usar em aula de artes, assim os alunos podem perceber o quanto os efeitos especiais evoluíram. Parabéns.

    For those wondering what kind of dinosaur this is, The Making of King Kong describes it as being entirely fanciful on purpose. Marcel Delgado was told to create a fictional type of dinosaur.

    • @jointcerulean3350

      That’s really cool, Thanks for the info. And that does solidify the fact that the dinosaurs from the 1933 King Kong are indeed all evolved fictional species of dinosaurs, not existing species that people tend to think. Also I would imagine this fictional dragon dinosaur is some kind of carnivorous sauropodomorph, certainly not a nothosaurus that’s for sure.

    The father/son theme is for the Dinos, too. This is the son of the cave Dino King Kong fought. Both chose suffocation, the dad tried to strangle King Kong with his body while his son tries to smother Kiko with his butt at 0:45 and again at 0:55. Both got their heads bashed at the end.

    • @Goji1
      @Goji1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Um. the first cave dinosaur was supposed to be a plesiosaur, It was portrayed inaccurately like a snake but at the time that was the most accurate theoretical information of that dinosaur. Also Daddy killed the plesiosaur by getting a good hold on its tail and slamming its entire body on the ground a few times.

    • @jennamabry3331
      @jennamabry3331 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That’s right but the fights and dinos were still very similar and along with the music and wrestling style. So it shows that there was a theme between the two films.

    • @jennamabry3331
      @jennamabry3331 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @King Kong Fan the dinos are very similar so they both could’ve been an elasmosaurus or nothosaurus but even still I think both were aquatic dinos and neither of the two fights were anywhere near the water. They still could’ve been father and son, too.

    I've been watching a few 1950s monster movies before stumbling across this scene and I must say that the animation here looks to me way more realistic than in those 50s movies; not to say for the tools and means that they had back then. It´s as if stop-mo animation worsened or went backwards from the 1930s to the 50s, because the animation of the 1950s movies rather reminds me of the 1920s monster movies...

    • @Darthzilla99

      Even though King Kong was a huge hit in 1933, it didn't launch an interest in big budget spx effects or monsters for sometime. Plus with the focus on ww2 and Korean War, they didn't make alot of sci fi movies until the 1950s. King kong was re-released and that launched the 50s monster movies era.

      It’s certainly not a nothosaurus, it’s actually a fictional carnivorous sauropod. Nothosaurus was a small marine reptile that lived during the Cretaceous, had interlocking teeth like a gharial, webbed feet, compressed tail, and sprawling limbs like a lizard. And it wouldn’t be an evolved nothosaurus since it has sprawling limbs, This dragon dinosaurs has an erect gait, a long strong flexible neck, and a prehensile tail that is held off the ground, and it’s a terrestrial carnivore, not a marine or aquatic one.

    Hey!!! I wonder if this titular fictional dinosaur here might have inspired the monster Jurasaurus from "The Boy Who Fell Into The Jurassic Era", the fifth episode of the 1970s Japanese superhero/giant monster television series "Fireman"! I mean of course they do have contrasting differences as Jurasaurus has a ridged back full of segmented plate-like structures (kind of like the Toho movie monster Baragon), is mostly covered in thick fish-like scales, has three sharp, forward-curving horns atop the head, and the tail is completely segmented. And this creature here just has a single row of small spines that run down the back like an iguana. But the obviously-undeniable similarities shared between both creatures have fanged jaws that they use to strike at their enemies like venomous snakes, and they have prehensile tails they use to wrap around their enemies to try and choke them. Not to mention the fact that both of them have long necks and walk on all fours like sauropods. Plus the battle between the titled protagonist character Fireman and Jurasaurus is very similar to this battle between Kiko and the Cave Dinosaur here, with Fireman lifting up, tossing and body slamming Jurasaurus, then Jurasaurus coming at Fireman to sink its fanged jaws into his leg and wrapping its long prehensile tail around his throat. Oh yeah, and Fireman also tried to pull Jurasaurus' jaws apart too, just like Kiko did with this dinosaur. Very similar to what Kiko was doing with this creature here. I just watched that Fireman episode on TH-cam not too long ago, and it immediately had me sensing Deja vu, reminding me of this particular scene from "Son Of Kong"!

    Like one commenter said this is a fictional dinosaur
    But just to correct some commenters nothosaurus,plesiosaurs and elasmosaurus aren’t dinosaurs
    They’re sauropterygians

    That my friend, is a Nothosaurus. But were the guys at Kong's grave?

    • @williamhiers1280
      @williamhiers1280 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It may resemble a Nothosaurus but it was entirely fanciful from a design standpoint. Willis O'Brien told Marcel Delgado to "build something nobody has ever seen before."

    • @jointcerulean3350
      @jointcerulean3350 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not a nothosaurus, nothosaurus lived during the Cretaceous, has webbed feet, interlocking teeth like that of the gharial, compressed tail, was small, and lived in a marine environments not in a terrestrial environment. Also it had sprawling limbs like lizards, and this fictional dragon dinosaur has an erect gait like what dinosaurs are already known to have, so it wouldn’t even be an evolved nothosaurus since it would have a sprawling Posture with a low body leveled to the ground with side to side locomotion. So what this dinosaur is is probably some form of carnivorous sauropodomorph.
