Ive been taught my whole life to have good finger technique. Curved fingers and close to the keys. This guy has horrible finger technique yet he plays everything so accurately. Its really impressive
I think that is more so a good habit for beginners and intermediates. Once you get past there you can make everything more dramatic for a performance with different finger positions.

Wonderful interpretation! Love the slightly brighter sound with a bit of edge for classical sax. I think things are changing in the classical milieu. In some older recordings of this piece the saxophone usually sounds quite stuffy, but not this one! Great job!!!
I really wanted to play this piece for solo and ensemble but it'll take forever to ship to my house so i wouldn't have much time to practice. Might buy it for later though

Very nice. Since I can't play that piece I'll offer no critique on technique, sound or finger fly. The sound is beautiful -- matches what I aim for with my own legit sound. Lately I've been trying to get my left hand to be more comfortable -- especially in the palm keys and have concluded that I either need key risers (esp. for high D) or a horn with adjustable palm keys. Since I'm just an adult amateur, I'm pretty sure it will be the former not the latter -- as much as I like the Eastman 52nd St. alto.

3:00 Bb instead of G…This shows that the performer strictly sticks to the original(?) score. Most players changed this note to G because it feels more harmonic.

Why didnt he just use 1 and 1 for the trill at 4:30? Going from regular B to Bis Bb is highly impractical
I don't know, I should take 1 and 4 or 5. Later on I hear it with the palm key, but it all sounds great.
Using your middle finger for a bis Bb trill works fine as long as the trill ends on the B natural (which he did) so you don't have to awkwardly slide the middle finger down a key. It's really a personal preference.
1 and 1 is a very out of tune fingering. My teacher told me to avoid it like the plague lol

The fingering you use isn't appropriate. When you want to do D - C# - D fast you must to only open the keys 1 and 2.
Just because you can't play it using those fingerings doesn't mean you should be jealous of him
Doing that would likely make the c# sound flat, I would personally would use open c# fingering and palm key d without octave key, but it is simply a personal preference.
