One of Don Johnson's best acting performances. He always knew how to make the emotions in his eyes and gestures incredible. One of the best actors of his generation, emotional, charismatic: 4:03
This show pulled NO PUNCHES when it came to its effects and production values. Every episode was like a big-budget Hollywood movie! It STILL stands the test of time. The show was SO 80's, but not the kind which you remember as being cool, yet seeing it nowadays looks cheesy... This show is EXACTLY as I remember it being. It hasn't lost any of its appeal,
@@jayanxietyIt definitely stands the test...I didn't even see it the first time and find it compelling. Translating through time is what defines greatness I think.
Not to be irrational, but I kinda liked Sonny's alter ego. I think it made him look cool. Not that he wasn't already cool when he was himself as Sonny Crockett. But I'm glad he's starting to get his memory back. Sad he lost the girl though.
I've noticed when Sonny became Burnett he went from white suits to black, but in this scene when his asking for Tubbs, his wearing white again. Very good from the production crew.
That was always the problem. He's not Odo. The Cartels are worth TRILLIONS with a T. And it's all Ethnic out of Latin America. Anybody who ever showed up in the Miami-Dade cophouse, half as often as Crockett did, would be ID'd within a couple weeks. Vice only works if it's external, using donor cops from other areas and/or DEA and never associated with what is almost certainly one of the most highly corrupted Law Enforcement agencies in existence. You literally have to have a Legend built around you that begins with a little free jail time to give you that truthy feel. And it probably helps if you're not white. Certainly in the 1980s. Now consider the number of times Crockett was able to shut down various smuggling rings. And how that works out in terms of testimony before a jury. You can only do Vice from the inside for maybe one or two stings until everyone in town knows who you are. After that, you're mission support for some other hero. And for Crockett, after all the stunts he pulled, just staying in the same state is likely a death warrant, depending on how much you took from which group's profit margin. This is what was never any good about the show. All the bad guys are white, all the dope is miniscule, and all the gunfights are fair rather than by ambush from people who know how to shoot and bring both a caliber, optic, magazine and ROF advantage to the fight. You start playing around with the Cartels and one of two things is going to happen: Your contract is going to get bought out as you start working for the other side. Or CSI Miami are going to find your remains in a whole bunch of shark bellies. One screaming body part at a time.
Wish all of season 5 was Burnett saga. Every episode Sonny eludes his old Vice squad because he's always one step ahead of the game. Then in the second to last episode, Sonny's empire finally collapses just as he does get his memory back. The final shot is a wide birds eye view of him surrounded by 5-6 dozen cops and SWAT team (they surround him in a circle), with a freeze frame and the caption "To Be Concluded". Then the last episode 2 hour finale is Sonny helping his crew take down the bad guys. However, once it's over, Sonny has to turn in his badge. Tubbs transfers back to NYC, and Sonny starts a private detective job closer to his son and ex-wife.
Man it would have been cool to do maybe 2 more episodes of Burnett before he got his memory back. Vice was the Best cop drama series ever made to date💪🏾💯
Wait..is this Sonny Burnett or Vince McMahon? Seriously though I hope they paid that Stunt Man extra because there was no room for error on this explosion. Heck I think one of the cars in the Foreground had it's windshield shattered either from the blast or debris. One of the perks and drawbacks of no CGI. Also I like how is Bodyguard's just disappear from the shot even though they were flanking him right before.
Since Season 4 finale Mirror Image Sonny Burnett has been front & center leaving Crockett in the dust. They could have made the whole of Season 5 around Burnett instead of these 3 episodes. Other shows in the mid 90's onwards had come to realize the popularities of such characters that they were able to stretch these out over a full season. Unfortunately this was MV final season the network & filmmakers kind of forgot what made MV tick in the first place. Executive Producer Michael Mann had at this time gotten sidelined in favour of incoming producer Dick Wolf. Wolf I think maybe used this final season as a dry run for his successful Law & Order franchise which ironically started the year after MV ended.
I don't think TV was as sophisticated then as it is now. This was pretty revolutionary for a series back then. Today they would have switched gears in a heartbeat but back then, it was too new.
I have seen Limos used in races, Top Gear did that a number of years ago, but generally speaking I agree with @Tyrone Phillips. Not so much a race car as much as it’s a fancy stretched Lincoln…
-Message to Vin Diesel, the new producer of the future TV show "Miami Vice" that he wants to remake; Can you PLEEEAAASE Jesse Johnson, Don Johnson's son, as an actor for the character Sonny Crockett (like his father in the 1980's), because he is an excellent actor (he knows how to render, like his father, the emotional, physical and introspective side of the characters he plays), and also, because he looks so much like his father, that for "Miami Vice", it would be the most judicious and intelligent choice for this new series.
Дон Джонсон действительно талантливый актер. И Джесси тоже. Но Голливуд всегда смотрел на связи и деньги, а талант не важен 🙁 - сейчас много весьма посредственных актеров. Дон в своё время не получил своей доли признания.
Why does he want to remake? Just only one Miami Vice. The remake will be a disaster as the last one... We'll be disappointed. Juste because the team will be different. It' s not the same for us...
