I must admit, I'm not quite a fan of this version of "Live and Learn". Sounds like it's trying to cater a little too much to the bombastic nature of OSTs from Hollywood movies and sounds like a song that could have fit within a James Bond movie. I think the small instrumental cover of "Live and Learn" from the title logo teaser of Sonic The Hedgehog 3 managed to stay a little more true to the video game, while still sounding new and unique to the movie. But since this version here from Bentley Jones isn't going to be featured in the movie, it will be interesting to see what the actual movie version is gonna sound like and what direction they went for with it.
I don't think this is THAT bad, it's just not as energetic as the original. Which i do understand, i do prefer a more electronic rock version over this. But we gotta remember, movie soundtracks don't work the same as game soundtracks. I think it would probably ruin an emotional scene if you had a hype energetic electronic rock song bustin' it out in the background to Shadow falling without his limiter rings. Also no, the SA2 game did not play the hype energetic electronic Live and Learn in the background when Shadow fell down to earth after using Chaos Control on the ARK. It played during the initial fight in the game, but once Final Bio-Lizard was defeated and Sonic & Shadow had to stop the ARK from colliding with earth, the game switched songs to a much more dramatic and sad one that perfectly fits within Shadow's sacrifice to save earth.

While not as good as the original, it's a legitimately a good and underrated remix that's a fresh take on this legendary classic. For the idea it was going for, it works. Obviously it's much slower paced take compared to the faster and high energy the original version provided, but it's also a unique and interesting idea you managed to make work. A solid remix that grew on me and I hope it grows on others too. One small complaint. It's "When you can't help but follow"

I feel the problem is that is taking a slower dramatic turn to a song that's fast paced. However the hold on to whatif part of it was what the beat should have been for mostly the whole song
