    I work on and rebuild dirt bikes and have been using Tekton torque wrenches for the last several years and have never had an issue. I've had 3 different ones checked for calibration after years of use and were spot on. I'm not a professional mechanic but I use my tools alot and I couldn't be happier.

    Thanks for the review, I knew nothing about torque wrench but for 300$ for an oil change for my CANAM Ryker I felt I needed to learn and shave off 200$ for that oil change. Saving got me the two tools and 100$ still in my pocket!
    End up buying 24320 and 24330 because I need as low as 9nm and as high as 30 nm.
    Cheers!

      Glad you found it helpful! Some service prices on things these days are out of control for sure.

    I just bought this. And like 10 minutes later after it came in the mail. my six year old started playing with it and turned it below 10 ft lbs. Did she mess up the calibration

      I did the same thing and I'm 50. lol. I think we're both good but I'm going to do a cal test just for the heck of it.

    Got a harbor freight 3/8 for 10 bucks today. See how it goes. Their 1/2 serves me well.

    Still liking the wrench? I need to go as low as 17 nm

      Yes! This thing gets used often. I also have their 1/2" drive 25-250 version and it is used all the time as well.

    Any updates on quality and or performance?

      It's a great wrench. Been using it fairly often and it never skips. Happy enough with it that I also bought their 1/4" drive version too. I'd definitely recommend it if you don't need angle or are in tight spots and need more than 24 teeth.

      @@threefortyduster Awesome, that’s pretty much what I’d need a torque wrench for. Something reliable to be used every so often.

    I bought a new 3/8" drive (03713A) Neiko torque wrench ($30 on Ebay). It looks very similar to the Tekton 3/8" torque wrench. It's probably not as good, but I hope it's good enough for tightening oil drain plugs to 25 foot lbs of torque. Some people complained about it, but I'm assuming that people aren't using it properly (like loosening bolts with it when they shouldn't), or not storing it properly (like not having the wrench loosened when storing it).

    • @threefortyduster
      @threefortyduster  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're likely fine! I have no experience with the Neiko wrench, but the minor fact that you got a torque wrench at all puts you far ahead of the average idiot out there.
      And yes, LOTS of people hear that the wrench ratchets and think they should be used like a ratchet which is horrible for them, or they store them improperly, which throws the calibration off.

    Let's see you didn't talk about the reversing switch, is it capable of torque in reverse, on the backside of the torque wrench is it listed in newton meters or inch pounds or is it just in the manual. Not a very thorough review

    • @threefortyduster
      @threefortyduster  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What about the reversing switch? It has one. No, it does not torque in reverse. The backside of the wrench lists Newton-Meters. I'm looking forward to your reviews!

    Is this good for 5Nm?

    • @threefortyduster
      @threefortyduster  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, this one only goes down to 13.6 Nm. For 5, you'll want the 1/4" drive part number 24320.
