The video is from Volume 7 of the video series "Come Dance with me In Ireland - The Magic of Irish Set Dancing". I'm not sure which of the five men on the video is not in this set, but the sleeve notes for the video nominates the following dancers: Timmy & Rhona McCarthy, John Lynch, Sheila Lynch, Danny Lynch, Kathleen Lynch, William Hammond, Linda Quinlan & Jerry Twomey. The band is the Donncha Lynch Trio: Donncha Lynch, Donncha Lynch (Jnr) & Aogán Lynch.
The word from one of the other participants (I'll leave it up to him if he wants to be linked to from here) is that the videos were recorded in '91/92 and some of the dancers are "Timmy, John Lynch (John the leaper), his brother at second sides, and I think William Hammond." He's not sure of the women's names.
Many thanks Michael. It's not quite as early as I thought. Shame he can't name the women - they are brilliant. Somehow with sets, it's always the men who are most easily recognised and remembered - at least here I Clare they are.
Tomás De Búrca Timmy the Brits partner in this dance is definitely his wife Rhona, I'm sorry I haven't a clue who the rest of the dancers are. My grandparents, Diarmuid and Mary McSweeney will be thrilled to see this video, it's been a few years since my grandmother has danced unfortunately.
Mr Harrison, do you know roughly what year this recording was made - my guess would be sometime in the late 70's. What a truly brilliant exhibition of the set. Thanks a million for posting. The only dancer I recognise is Timmy McCarthy (Timmy the Brit - am I correct?)
Timmy and Donncha passed away to early .
Donncha was brother in Law with Seamus and brendan Begley ...
Timmy the Brit is still going strong at 69 years old! CIAW 2014 Baile Bhúirne polka step dance Last weekend at the Catskills!
Wow! That was hot!

That's identical to the Kerry Polka
I wouldn't agree that it's "identical" but there are many similarities.
Sorry, I meant to ask - who are the other dancers?
I don't know but I've got feelers out.
Lo proveremo il 4 marzo
